Art Of War Chinese MMA

DUDE! This is freaking AWESOME. It's like Pride but with Chinese people:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqZ70Hky93E

Pride + UFC rules combined, which is why people are hyping it as the best ruleset to date (soccer kicks and knees to the head of a downed opponent allowed, + all elbows allowed)

Also the scoring system is Japanese style (points awarded based on damage, takedowns by themselves do not count unless you do something with them <-- which solves the biggest criticism of UFC rules)

You can see from that highlight how much potential this org has, it basically looks like the Pride of '02-'03.

Anyways it's still just starting out but I am positive in a few years it will be hella awesome. And its backed financially by some rich Sheik from the middle east. They even got Michael Buffer to be the MC!

The ruleset is nice, but if only they could attract more technically skilled fighters...

They'll have a lot of skilled fighters in due time. I'm stoked about the possibilities of having another Pride

I hope so.
Then again, Art of War had been around since 2005, so I'm worried that it's already "fallen in between the cracks" if you know what I mean.

But still, the ruleset ROCKS!

Thanks for revealing what a fake fan you are. Show some respect, fighting is harder than you think, dude. I thought I had mad skills and a gameplan but still ended up swinging for the fences like a thug in my first couple amateur boxing matches. Like I said - they're still in a nascent stage.

Choku Dori: they've been around but have just got MAJOR financial backing. So expect influx of talent and more seriously trained fighters soon (I hope. Otherwise that would be a fail...)

With rules like this, the heels to the face of the opponent while on ur back are legal? Elbow into the ground through the opponent are? (IMO this is the biggest thing that could end fights, but because the straight elbow rule is in effect no one does too much damage with glancing elbows)

Great rules, I just think someone is going to die after getting a heel into their face trying to attack someone on the ground. Good rules though, DAMAGE rules > take down pts.

I'm stoked. This is true NHB MMA, not like UFC, which has become watered down over the years.

Hopefully they can attract some decent talent and be what Pride used to be.
