Car Info: ...zeh car drives you!
Minor issues:
1. 45K mile servicing: $300
2. Timing belt replacement: $300
3. New tires: $750
4. Someone JUST dented the rear passenger door in a parking lot and didn't leave a note. I don't have time to fix this before I leave: $1000

I am not a body shop expert, but his "dent" looks like a full on collision/accident that would cost more than $1,000.
I cannot figure out if this guy is for real or trolling...

lol @ 300 for timing belt job. That doesn't even cover labor. He probably saw one of those $300 timing belt ads in the pennysaver for most 4 cyl cars and thinks a Subaru would qualify.

Subaru recommends the timing belt on these cars be done every 105k or 9 years. This is just to cover there asses. Those belts can go 200k and 20 years. Who has the ***** to find out? I don't. Just did mine on my 05 STi with 59k. Only cost me about 250$. All oem parts. I am a mechanic that works at a dealer though..

Well see he's apparently got quite JDM hook up or some tweeker that will do it fo crack money. I don't know where he got that number. Probably pulled it out of his *** but his head is obviously still stuck up there. All jokes aside I'm a licensed smog tech too! Always nice to meet a fellow inspector. Working on getting my repair license right now

My '02 WRX has 67k miles on it, and I will probably do the belt pretty soon. That car has has a pretty hard life, and it was sold new in 2001. I inspected the belt on my 1993 Justy and it did not have an cracks or anything, but basically the belt was so dry that teeth started falling off of it while I was driving through SF traffic. When I had the belt out, I could flick other teeth off.
I have another Justy, a '91, which is just about to hit 100k miles, and I had the belt done in 2006 at 49k miles. Mostly because a Justy is one of the few cars that you can do a belt pretty easily and without even touching the water pump. I bet you could do a Justy timing belt on the side of the road if you had to, and as long as there were no problem with the crank woodruff key (this is common).
