Checking out some used car today, guess what happened~
hello guys,
My frined,my girl and me went to stevens creek honda to check out some used cars this afternoon. We did some search online, and was interested on a 01' Prelude in their used car lot. They are asking $16000 for it,which i think is a rip off price.anyway, long story short. The sales asked me what kind of car i'm driving, here's our dialog: S=sales, Me=me S:What kind of car you driving? Me:WRX S: a what? Me: (ok,fine) Impreza WRX S: what?a XXX(forgot what brand he said) Me: (-.-!) Subaru Impreza WRX S: OH!~a subaru. Why you buy a subaru,it's BAD car. Me:Excuse me?!?! I was very pissed off by what he said to us. And he kept telling us that he has been selling cars for 10 years. I was like" really, and you don't know what's a wrx " He talked very loud, and turned his face to my friend after my face showed " i don't buy any of your crap " Anyway, this was rather a very very bad experience. Not just that he offened me by saying my baby is a bad car,he was very rude. I guess all steves creek's car dealerships are all the same. |
you should of asked what car he had? He would probably say ford escort...
or maybe tell him the best way to sell a car is to insult your customers! |
What you should of said was, "bad car?! but, I've never had to change the muffler bearings or check the headlight fluid."
|
no, you all have it wrong.
When someone makes a stupid statement like that, you simply ask "why are they bad cars?" and watch them squerm. One sales guy said that to me and said 'gas mileage' so I pointed at the S2000 and asked about that car? and said it gets great mileage. Most car Salesman = stupid non-tech liars. :middlefinger: |
they are complete tools...just leave them be. When they don't sell any cars for a while they will resort to selling "dehydrated water in bottles." The instructions will clearly read "just add water!" Goodnight and goodlaughs.

Car salesmen know how to convince most dummys that come in and don't know ****. When they come across somebody that knows something, they have no clue what to say.
I was shopping for trucks a short while back and the guy said that a 4 cylinder Tacoma was "very very powerful". I asked him how it compared to a V6 Tundra (playing dumb), and he said it was just as powerful..... too bad he was wrong. Reason: They had no V6 Tundras on the lot but had a ton of 4 banger Tacomas. |
oh,i forgot to mention one of my favorite line from him.
" WHy you buy new car? " |
Typical salesman....
|
...so what kind of car do you drive, again? I drive cars for 10 years now.
|
I love this thread! Everything you said here is true... it's very few that you run into someone who really knows what they're selling.
|
Too bad i'm not the type of person that would dump all those things mentioned above by you guys right in his face. That would shut him up real good i bet.
|
not only that it will shut them up real quick....but you get a great laugh at the confused, and nervous look on the sales guy's face when you show a little knowledge. Hahahaha

I once had a Nissan Dealer offer to race my S in a 350Z.... He said that if I beat him, he'd buy the car for me, if he beat me, I had to buy the car. I didn't race him because I was pretty sure I would have ended up having to buy a Nissan... I should go back w/ my STi... It'd be nice to have a 350 as a beater. :) |
Just ask him, directly to his face, if there is another salesman who can help you. It's a slap in the face, because he most likely called dibs on you as you drove up.

Lmao

And then added that he and your car have something in common, the word BAD. Bad car, Bad salesman. |
