I'm always curious as to why stealing movies over the internet is deemed o.k.?

You wouldn't steal from the DVD section at Target but it's o.k. to steal from a torrent site?

I'll bet huge numbers of people illegally downloading movies and music are also going to church and whatnot and trying to teach good morals to their kids.
dude gtfo. honestly. what do you expect to happen from your rant?
"oh wow, that guy is totally right...from this day forth, I'll never download illegally AGAIN"

:suspicious: I honestly don't care what you steal, that's your business. I just asked why people think it's o.k. to steal over the internet but wouldn't go thieving at an actual, physical, store.

I personally think it says a lot about people when they will steal anything if they think they won't get caught :noidea:

That's all I'm getting at. We all do things that others will never agree with or understand. People see this as stealing, I can see your point. I can actually have the movies I watch quicker by renting it through my netflix account, I like downloading and watching on the htpc I built, I can't keep them all, I am limited by my hard drive. I have to delete stuff to be able to put new stuff on. It's just something I enjoy doing.
and it's OK for corporations of big studios to jack $12.50 every time we want to get to 2nd base with a girl in a dark room, or watch a piece of **** Michael Bay silver lined deuce? Believe you me, I go out and purchase the stuff I love and deem worthy of my hard earned money; I'd like to believe that Family Guy got renewed because of people like me. It's not like these huge studios are some mom and pop joint who'll go under if they lose a few legitimate customers.
If you don't like free markets go move to Cuba.

OK all of these arguments are valid. But once you pop....

i actually pay for one of the sites i use, a3box.co.kr (korean). $10 gives 10,000 points and 1g is about 120points.
although i pay, i doubt any of that money goes to the copyright owners.

oh i get it, so its ok to speed and drive dangerously (such things kill people) but to duplicate something you probably weren't going to buy anyway crosses this moral line for you.

the difference between stealing from walmart and copying a movie online is walmart sells a physical product.

walmart will no longer be able to sell their $20 product. copying a movie just means that one person who didn't pay $20 for a license to watch a movie in their own home didn't pay for that right but did so anyway.

but yeah, these things are way worse than risking losing a life.
