Anyone know where I can get a cheap OBDII code reader?
I'm looking for a reliable OBDII scanner device where I can clear codes if need be without having to hook up to a real OBDII scanner. People keep telling me that I can go buy one for like $30, but where and what brand? Sole purpose is to clear codes.
(No, I can't do it from my phone... I lost my good phone and have to use some old POS, so that's not an option even though it would save me a lot of headache). Thanks guys, D- |
i think this should work. http://www.amazon.com/OBD-II-EOBD-Diagnostic-Code-Scanner/dp/B0035RZ280

Autozone (Cali based) usually has one you can 'loan' out for free - I just got the ELM327 like in the post above about using a droid - it also comes w/PC software, so you should be able to use it via PC or Android Phone

I think there is still a place on Senter across from the Cost Co that sells used tools

I got mine from kragen I think for about 70 bucks new. Works great. If you want to clear your code you can come by and use mine? It shows what codes are on too. Lol. Hit me up if you decide to.

Easiest way to clear codes? Sell your STI, and buy an Evo. Aren't you the one who told us how much better they are?

If I were in the right financial situation I would, but I also love my STi so there's no need to sell it right now just to get something so similar. I don't need any extra payments and I'll wait a year or two. BTW, thanks to everyone else for providing all the useful info! I appreciate it, and I'll let you know which route I go. |
