Anyone know any good Kia mechanics?

At my job, we have a fleet of Kia Souls (don't ask) and one of them blew a headgasket a couple weeks ago. Now this thing is magnificent, when the gasket blew, the block melted. So, the car needs a new engine. The car is currently at a dealer and they want $7000 to swap the engine. We figure the car is only worth ~$8000.
Because my boss knows I'm a car guy, he's breathing down my neck to find a shop for this paperweight. Anyone know a reasonable mechanic to swap an engine on a 2012ish Kia Soul. If I could think of a car that would go under "Gas Station Service" that would be it.
Tony runs the repair facility at this shop, he's a very good mechanic and honest. 697 N 4th St, San Jose, CA 95112 (408) 286-7788 |
Didn't Kia have some sort of engine failure recall in place?
Didn't Kia have some sort of engine failure recall in place?
Good question. I told my boss to look into any recalls or warranties that might apply. Being a commercial vehicle might kill any hope of that though. |
Damn. Clearly someone ignored "Danger to Manifold" warning!!!
