So what does it mean, that speeding tickets are more for making the state $$ rather than teaching the driver a lesson??

We're, or at least I was, making a statement based on the information the OP provided. I didn't know the exact breakdown, but it confirmed my hunch speed laws are BS.

Pretty damn close but I'm sure you can go to traffic school for this. I mean you didn't get thrown in jail. It's going to be one hell of a ticket though.

Look at your ticket - if the officer only wrote down one violation of speeding, it should be fixable by traffic school. But if he added another violation, for example, wreckless driving, etc.... that's going to be two points on your record.

Traffic school will only get rid of one of the points.

Yea, he only wrote down traffic violation or whatever, and it was denoted as an infraction not a misdemeanor. I'm crossing my fingers. All my friends were like "dude EVERYONE knows king city is a speed trap". Guess I didn't...

If you're planning on being near the triple digit mark, @ least be smart about it and have radar or a spotter.

i think this formula might work in most cases, but this is not the only thing they can get you for when speeding.

there's another law about going over 65mph thats easier for the officer to enforce in court (VC 22349A: Maximum Speed Limit 65MPH)...and the ticket is for more than $146 that website quotes
