This is awesome for those that will be able to attend!!! I just so happen to have a baby due on May 15th so I have a feeling my "get out of jail free" card will be revoked during that time period, and that's fine by me.

Thanks for the reminder, Jon! You make it sound so dirty. :thumb:

I went last year, it was a great weekend. Great instruction, really well run event. Cheap compared to a lot of other driver's school sort of events - especially the rally schools. Really likely to do it again this year<...checking schedule...>

Please. Tell me more.

dub599 01-30-2012 04:06 PM

yes more details like location and fees associated ect...

UP2MTNS 01-30-2012 04:27 PM

Venue will be the Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa.

Pricing will be on Paul Eklund's website, here's the link, but he hasn't updated it for 2012 yet:

RALLY SCHOOL

But that should give you a good idea, and he has some FAQ stuff on there.

The school goes over the entire weekend, classroom time Friday night, practice all day Saturday (and I do mean all day), and a RallyX for everyone on Sunday.

the only requirement is a safe car (although, there will be rally cars to rent if you have the $$$) and a helmet. Helmets will be available to borrow, but there won't be enough for everyone, so plan accordingly.

I am down sounds like a metric ish ton of fun. Peninsula convoy and camp out anyone? Camping is cheaper than hotels.

Helmet question:
Snell SA2010 open face helmet gonna work? Will that helmet also work for SCCA autox events?

UP2MTNS 01-31-2012 10:13 AM

for rally, yes. I won't speak to autoX events since I've never been to one or read their rulebook. I'm sure someone else on here can chime in.

LegAC_GT 01-31-2012 10:47 AM

Damn i might actually be taking days off work lol. This sounds sick, keep us posted!

Well tell him to get to it.

wombatsauce 02-22-2012 07:32 AM

How novice can you be? I want to do this, but haven't driven a rally or had offroad instruction beyond a practice at Praire City. Also - would a motorcycle helmet that met the year requirement be sufficient?
