2006 ver9 SPEC C Steering Wheel - Clock Spring?

Does anyone know if the clock spring on the 05WRX would fit the 2006 ver9 SPEC C steering wheel? If not, do you need to buy a STI one from the dealer?

whats different with the spec c steering wheel?

Max Xevious 12-15-2006 04:22 PM

so..

either the Spec C wheel is the same, or you bought a 05 USDM wheel

so I would think the clock spring would work.

Just got emailed back from a couple of vendors and they said that I would be able to re-use my clock spring for the Spec-C. But ya the Spec C steering wheel is basically the same as the 05-06sti but with out the cruise control.

I wasn't sure because I called the Marin Subaru Dealership and they said "No" it wouldn't work.

I think the USDM comes with Red switching too, but this is just easier to find and its practically brand new for the price of a used USDM.

From vendor

"these steeringwheels are new takeoffs from brand new RA-C cars stripped and prepped for rally....They usually come with under 50 miles on them.....essentially new. They are pretty well identical to the USDM Sti wheel but with no cruise (to save weight :P)

They were not supplied to us with clocksprings, so you can re-use yours....no customers to date have had any trouble mounting them, from GC8's to new age cars...."

Did you have an 05? If you did why the hell would you switch to the same steeing wheel?? If you didn't want cruise control on the button why not just switch the control stalk?
