Serious, i do not really like that thing to be called GTR. since it has vertical headlites and no inline-six engines. renault, what have u done to nissan..!!! :)

Agreed, WTF.

Stupid turbo nissan quest minivan V6. Same damn engine as in the G35, FX35, Maxima, Altima, and 350z. Probably a few more than I'm not remembering as it is in every single friggin' Nissan V6 they make. :(

That's like slapping a turbo on the Lancer's engine and sticking it in an Evo and trying to pass it off as a real Lancer Evolution. An evo is no evo without a 4G63 the same way a skyline gtr is no skyline gtr without an RB26DETT. No more 1000hp skylines, I guess. :p

The last thing I read about that car said it will cost upwards of $70,000.

Choku Dori 10-19-2005 10:38 AM

Looks good to me, aesthetically speaking. I like how it still actually looks like a Skyline unlike the G35 coupe.
And $70k?! Ouch!

Yin 10-19-2005 10:44 AM

at 70k i'd rather get the new z06 and spank every car on the road in stock form. but the new skyline has a nice style to it, i will give it that.

Jumpman23 10-19-2005 10:49 AM

daymn, looks like its from a video game !

Vangelon 10-19-2005 11:02 AM

I've been a huge fan of the R32, R33, and R34 and have been worried about the next GTR since they first announced it. I'm surprised to say the styling isn't bad, I kinda like it. I agree that a lack of mean looking horizontal headlights is sad (at least the tails are still round) But the ENGINE oh GOD WHY?! Nissan, why did you close your RB engine plant?! ya ya cutting costs, but it wasn't worth it!

XkrazyAsianX 10-19-2005 11:08 AM

wtf! i can't click on the gallery.

I really don't see what you're all complaining about. Nissan has used their VQ (I think that's the engine name) in almost all their cars because that's that good of an engine. IIRC they've been using it for most of their car platforms for over 16 years, and it's been listed in top 10 engines every single year. I bet if you drove the Nissan Quest, you wouldn't think you're driving the same engine as the 350Z or a Maxima.

I mean this engine is so versatile, they CAN use it in most of their chassis and it works PERFECT for that application. Think about how much money they can save using the same block for each car. You think it's not worth the cost cutting? They'll save millions just by changing the block. I'm sure they're tune the engine, add stronger parts which will get the engine to put out similar to the older RB series.

Why don't you complain about Subaru's EJ series, since it's basically what they use for all their cars. The EJ series is based all on the same type of engine, yet I don't see people complaining about it.

As for the design of the new GT-R I really don't like how every single car Nissan is designing looks basically the same. Whether it be the Maxima, Altima, 350Z, and now the GT-R.
