anyone pass smog with the vf34?

it looks like im going with a vf34 setup. when smog time comes around, im concerned with taking everything all apart again and putting it back to stock.

has anyone smogged a vf34 setup? do you think i will be able to smog my wrx if i put the stock exhaust on (downpipe and exhaust) and pass? i was curious to know if i could pass with the vf34 setup tuned with the catless uppipe still installed. taking off the uppipe is a PITA so i plan on leaving it installed.

If you put the stock dp in, you shouldn't have any problem with passing smog. When I was in Cali, I used a tunner who also owned a smog testing station. (I have an STI ) At the time it had a VF34. Even with a catless dp and up, it passed on all requirements except idle - with a cat in the dp, it would have passed no problem. Ask your tunner for a "clean" tune to reduce emmisions, install the cat and you won't have any issue.

Make sure your ECU is cool with no CELs at the time you bring it in.
