97' subaru impreza outback sport needs a turbo HELP!
I have a 97' subaru outback impreza sport with the 2.2 engine. I am only 17 and i want to do some upgrades to this car. I dont know what to do. I have a job and stuff but it doesnt pay alot. I need someone to tell what is a good upgrade for the money. I might want a turbo. But damn they are expensive. I also wouldnt mind to do a engine swap to a 2.5. Someone write back. I need some help. Im tired of the hondas and stuff taking over! The subaru guys need to stick together. My friend has an integra and he needs beat and i want to do it.

i just tried to put together a cheap turbo kit and it didnt really work out....i needed more money, between 1000 and 2000 for a decent setup, but if you just wanna spank him cheaply, go for nitrous 
if you dont like the idea of nitrous, then just start tacking on the bolt-ons and things like that, start with a decent intake and exhaust system, upgrade your ignition system with plugs, wires and a good strong coil pack, switch to synthetic, try lightened or underdrive pulleys, a light flywheel would make a big difference......umm....that should get you off the ground, try some of that!
