depends on your goals & budget....VF series turbos(VF30, 34, 22, 23,etc) are cheap, but disposable...the Mitsu G-series turbos(16G, 18G, 20G & variants) are easily rebuildable & easily upgradeable...

If your budget allows...go w/ a Mitsu turbo it will outspool & outperform just about all the VF series turbos...

+1, I ve had the vf34 for the past year, its a good fun turbo, but I found my self looking for more power after few months later. Go with 16g, later on you can always upgrade it to 18g if you need more power, or just go with 18g now.

lovesmysuby04 04-29-2006 09:52 AM

You can always upgrade your 34 to a pe1818 if you want.

yeh, but its still not rebuildable like the Mitsu turbos...

lovesmysuby04 04-29-2006 12:28 PM

To an extent you can rebuild an IHI turbo.

testes1010 04-29-2006 02:19 PM

yeh, at the cost of a new turbo......Deadbolt pretty much refuses to rebuild them because of the cost of parts & labor...they are disposable..

lovesmysuby04 04-29-2006 04:06 PM

well I guess I can buy two vf22's for the price of one 16g from deadbolt. You like what you like and for me it was a vf22.

Nice, hey do you have an 18g?

testes1010 04-30-2006 10:37 AM

20g

lovesmysuby04 04-30-2006 11:11 AM

Big power, nice. I think I'm going to upgrade my vf22 to a pe1820 for a little more power, these cars kick ass. Sorry for the thread jack.

DRFTwRx 05-01-2006 02:41 PM

daily driver huh....

GT35R FTW!!!

(kidding)

but seriously....i would go for at at least the 16G....we all know that each of us ends up wanting more out of our cars no matter what we do to them. might as well get something that is much easier to upgrade when that time comes
