16G and larger TMIC

So I found an offer for a 16g Turbo and bar and plate TMIC that is really good, the offer that is, don't know how good the TM is. Any thoughts on spool up characteristics vs the stock turbo I have. BTW my car is currently at Stage 2, running an OTS map from Cobb via the AP.

Not looking for crazy HP numbers, maybe in the range of 300 to 320 HP at the flywheel.

what brand is the tmic? 16g is a good turbo but these days I noticed a lot of suby people buying ebay brand tmic. Not a good idea it might be really cheap, but you pay for what you get for. Most of the time those tmic don't even fit well. Normally you would need to really force it to fit or you might even puncture the ac lines. so if it's an ebay brand be very careful. Right now I have a hyperflow tmic and those are really great, the aps tmic are really good too.

Aps Sr 30

Thanks for the reply, the brand of the tmic is BEP, never heard of it before. Glad to know about the Hyperflow tho, i have been looking at those as well. This is a package deal, and searching for stand alone 16g, they generally run about $699 to $799, so this seems like a decent price, $1,095 for both. I am not jumping at it right away.....

Ok so now I am looking into the APS SR 30 turbo. Looks like a nice piece of kit. Any input?

Not stealing your thread but I would like to know if the 16G can be swapped without having to change to a larger fuel pump and injectors? I would really appreciate it.

Forgot to mention. I have a 2005 WRX (Not the sti).

Thanks.

Adam

My understanding is that it really depends on the state of tune. That said you will need to go with bigger injectors, however, you will probably be able to run the stock fuel pump unless you plan on running the turbo at its limit.
