avalanche has occurred near Sierra At Tahoe
An avalanche has occurred near the Sierra At Tahoe ski resort.
According to the El Dorado County Sheriff's Department, the avalanche happened about 1:00 p.m. in Huckleberry Canyon, just outside the resort area. It's an area often used by cross-country skiers.
There were reports that people may have beeen trapped in the avalanche, but KCRA 3's Dann Shively in LiveCopter 3 reported that everyone known to be in the area has been accounted for.
