Listed on their website (www.prodrive.com) as part of their staged kits. This high flow, stainless steel center pipe fits with the factory hardware and factory brackets. The Prodrive center pipe accommodates the factory heat shield to retain the stock look. The center pipe accommodates the O2 sensor from the factory as well. This center pipe does not have additional muffler.
Also known as a 3CE (third cat eliminator), 3rd cat delete, midpipe, race pipe, or test pipe in various WRX/STI forums.

Pros:
Fits under factory heatshields, quicker in boost
Cons:
None (yet)
Recently bought this used from another i-Club\'er who got it part of a complete exhaust system. Sourced some extra 3rd cat factory heat shields from an STI partout in the classifieds and bolted them up. As you can see from the photos, it does not require any modification to mount in the OEM heatshields. I\'ve seen others mount Stromung 3CE pipes in factory heat shields, but the O2 sensor bungs are mounted in a different position than the factory is and requires you to make another hole in the heat shields. Not so with the Prodrive unit, so when I found one used for sale in the classifieds...I jumped on it.
My goal is to improve exhaust flow with out deviating from the noise level of factory exhaust, especially since the factory STI exhaust is capable of around 325-340 crank hp as claimed by many staged reflash kits available on the market (like COBB and Vishnu\'s Stage-1). I don\'t plan on exceeding that with my WRX.
Mounted in my car. My initial reaction is that the exhaust note has a very slighty deeper tone but over all no louder than stock. Going for a quick drive I find the turbo spools up quicker and am in boost sooner. I\'ll put up long term impressions as I get more driving time with it. Current exhaust is: Bosal uppipe, factory downpipe, Prodrive 3CE, factory midpipe, factory STI axleback. I feel the setup is improved over the factory 2004 WRX exhaust without sacrificing noise levels or unwanted attention.
