This component replaces the stock shifter mount bushings in 1998-2005 model year Subaru vehicles, including Impreza RS, WRX (Including 6-speed STi), Outback Sport, Legacy, and Forester. While this product will not change the geometry of the shifting mechanism, it eliminates excessive play in the system for a more solid gearchange. This product requires jacking of the car and jackstands are mandatory. Can be installed in 30 min. Material is Black (STi bushings are Grey), 95A durometer polyurethane. Rear shifter bushings for all AWD manual Transmissions. Material is Black. Made in USA. Bushing sets sold seperatly.

Pros:
Reduces shifter SLOPiness
Cons:
Need small hands for install.
The stock bushing comes out so easily, it seemed reasonable the new one would go in just as easy. No. The bolts are just long enough that you have to slightly compress the bushing while threading them. A lift would have made this easier.
Now that the hard part is over with, it really helps stabilize the shifter during fast shifts.

Pros:
Smoother shifting
Cons:
None
Cleaned up shifting a little more. As far as smoother shifting, the front shifter bushings did about 2/3 and the rears did the remaining 1/3.

Pros:
Great addition to drivetrain for solid shifts
Cons:
A small amount of added NVH.
A partially difficult install, but oh well.
This really helps with the feel of the shifter, and directness of the transmission.
Some vibrations are transferred through, but it is well worth it.

Pros:
Firmed up shifter feel
Cons:
Difficulty of installation when you don't have access to a lift.
For the price, you can't beat the benefit. I unbolted the driveshaft support and got the driveshaft out of the way for more room. Made the install much easier after struggling with it for half an hour.

Cons:
First let me say this install was a pain in the ass. It would be easier if the driveshaft was not totally in the way. It seems KB has started shipping longer bolts. They were a BIATCH to get started...
Second, this seems to be a great mod. I would suggest getting the front and rear bushing at the same time, though. Tighten things up nicely.
