A larger than stock top mount intercooler demands a large volume of cool air for optimum intercooler performance. An even distribution of air across the entire face of the intercooler core is necessary to ensure optimum heat exchange and therefore cold charge air temperature.
As the above cannot be achieved with the stock WRX component, APS has developed the ultimate WRX and STI air splitter. Specifically designed to supply an even spread of cooling, fresh air across the face of the intercooler core, the APS intercooler air splitter is the ideal component to partner the huge APS TMIC - the largest WRX and STI top mount intercooler available.
The unique APS High Flow Air Splitter promotes an even distribution of air across the intercooler core through the use of an innovative curved top baffle - and ensures that "hot spots" do not occur near the outer extremities of the core itself. After all, the optimum distribution of fresh air is mandatory to achieve the best intercooling possible.
The APS High Flow Air Splitter also provides more fresh air to the intercooler core. With an opening size of 19" x 5.75" (over 109 sq inches), that's 17% larger than the stock intercooler baffle - Even larger than the STI component.
NOTE: Fitment of the APS High Flow Air Splitter requires the APS STI Style hood scoop (or genuine STI hood scoop) and will not suit the stock WRX scoop.

Slight seal rub on aftermarket TMIC
Excellent splitter that gives greater airflow and distribution to larger aftermarket Top-mount Intercoolers. You need the STI hoodscoop for this to fit. With the TurboXS TMIC there was a little rubbing on the seal of the splitter, but no other issues.
