The standard Turbo feed up-pipe features a small catalytic converter as part of the up-pipe. This part is designed to work only within a very narrow engine performance window. Any increases in Turbo Boost Pressure, Intake and Exhaust efficiency or poorly tuned engine management can result in this cat converter failing. This often results in not only poor performance, but also major damage to the turbocharger exhaust Turbine wheel.
