Description: An uppipe that is engineered just like the JDM STi uppipe. Fits the 02 WRX, this uppipe is exact fitting. Comes with a accordian type flex section and is wrapped in a heat shield - just like the OEM model. The only thing you won't get is the high JDM price. Kit comes with superior quality upper and lower gaskets made from multi-ply metal - just like the OEM gaskets.

Pros: Very nice construction, looks like a factory part, feels stronger overall
Cons: None (yet)

I was looking for an STI factory up-pipe but all the ones I found were outside of California and had more surface oxidation than I was willing to accept, plus they wanted $125 shipped for them (or more). I thought that was outrageous as for a little more money you can get brand new aftermarket ones, not used-pulls.

At a glance the piece looks like a factory unit with heatshields et al, just no EGT bung as there is not pre-cat here. This is what I wanted, especially living here in California where we need to do visual smog inspections. This part should blend right in.

EDIT 08.09.05: I just got it installed today at Gruppe-S along with some Vishnu intercooler hoses. After the drive home from Hayward to San Jose, it appears to eliminate some of the lag and jumpiness the car had before with the factory catted piece. Also quicker to make boost. The car feels stronger overall throughout the entire rev range. I don\'t notice it being any louder than before. Will update this post if anything further arises that will change my impressions. Otherwise I\'m happy with it.

Pros: Looks like stock, flex.
Cons: None

Looks like stock is a big + because of the fact that I do not have to switch it out when SMOG time comes around.

A really well made piece overall, no cons.
