Description: For high performance and heavy-duty street conditions. Perfect for prolonged everyday street use while also being capable of tolerating the most severe street use without any fade. Rotor friendly of course. The R4-S friction level will give you an impressive increase in stopping ability with very minimum pedal effort. R4-S compound has the absolute lowest noise and dust levels, far below OEM equipment or any other high performance brake material. Good for autocrossing, some drivers schools, solo events, and rally’s. The R4-S compound is available for virtually any vehicle sold in the US. We also offer the R4-S in pad sizes for competition type calipers that are used under street driven conditions.

Pros: Great stopping power
Cons: rotor wear

These are great for the occasional track day. I also used them for about a month on the street and they worked great-very little squealing, and worked at cold temps.

Track day results were very good considering this is rated as more of an auto-cross pad. Even under extreme heat, these worked VERY well on the stock calipers. The one issue I had was they seriously thrashed my stock rotors. FWIW my rotors were already pretty torn up, but the final track day with the Porterfields did them in. Get upgraded rotors with these pads.

Pros: improved bite, great at high temps
Cons: lots more brakedust

Compared to stock these pads are awesome, they bite harder and at the track they operate at temperatures that had my stock pads slipping.

Pros: Hands down better bite.
Cons: Price (expensive but worth it).

Had these paired with Stoptech slotted rotors and stainless steel lines with SuperBlue fluid. They ran great at the track day.

Pros: Great stopping power, low dust, high heat temp rating
Cons: More costly than other brands but cheaper than JDM equivalents.

Hands down one of the best brake pad replacements you can get for an OE brake setup. Very solid and quick stops, low dust, very high heat temp rating, no fading or spongy feeling after prolonged abuse.

This is my 2nd pair of Porterfield R4-S (1 pair for my MR2 SC, 1 pair for this WRX) and will continue to support this product on my future cars as long as they make em.
