Brushed Billet Aluminum Shifter Trim for the “New Age” Subaru Imprezas. Fits model year ’02-’03 in USA and ’01-’03 in Europe, Asia and Australia. This product is manufactured in the USA by Autospeed Performance, manufacturers of high performance racing parts and accessories.
This Trim Plate has the “WRX” or "IMPREZA" logo machined into its surface and looks great! The plate fits perfectly on your Scooby's shifter console.
This shifter trim plate was designed on state of the art CAD/CAM programs and is precision CNC machined out of aircraft grade 6061-T6511 billet aluminum.
The trim plate can be installed in less than 15 minutes all without having to remove the console, just drill a couple of pilot holes and install the supplied torx screws.
"Did you know that the Factory STi trim plate is cast and not machined? Did you also know that the STi piece requires your console to be modified? Not only do you have to remove the console and grind away console material but the bolts that are supplied with the kit do not thread into the console itself, instead you have to push the bolts through your shift boot & attach nuts to the bolts from underneath making for a tedious and cumbersome install."

Pros:
Look of the STI with the WRX logo instead. Easy install.
Cons:
Slightly wider than the STI factory version, but nothing major
For those who want the look of the STI trim in their RS2.5 or WRX, this quality piece is for you. Available with Impreza or WRX engraved trim. I am not a big fan of all the STI-branded goodies so this for me is an excellent alternative. The bottom of the Autospeed pics above show the ASP logo also at the bottom, but mine doesn\'t have that. Only the WRX engraving at the top. Easy install and nothing to trim. Had it in within 15-minutes.

These are sharp looking without a PepBoys flavor. You can get them pretty cheap on eBay

Pros:
High quality product, easy to install, looks great with aftermarket shift knob
Cons:
console is contoured, trim is FLAT.
I bought the autospeed trim with the wrx stamp instead of the sti. Supplied self tapping screws were easy to install with a torx driver. However, the trim is made completely flat while the console is actually contoured slightly. We'll see how it holds up during the summer. Overall, high quality product.
