The most common comment Royal Purple® receives from customers is how they can feel the difference in their car's performance. Though performance gains will vary depending on the type of vehicle, its condition, and the way it’s driven, Royal Purple® provides superior protection and typically creates horsepower and torque gains up to 3%, fuel consumption reductions up to 5% and emission reductions of more than 20%.
The primary purpose of oil is to reduce friction. Reducing friction increases horsepower and torque, and reduces fuel consumption, emissions, engine wear and heat.
Royal Purple® continuously protects because it continuously adheres to metal parts—even after shutdown. Royal Purple withstands metal-to-metal contact because of its high film strength—a derivative of Synerlec®. By definition, film strength is a lubricant property that acts to prevent scuffing or scoring of metal parts. Royal Purple's film strength is up to 400% stronger than other oils.

Pros:
Better than the other synthetics.
Cons:
Price
Better quality oil than the others, however due to the price and the fact that I change my oil ever 4000 miles, to some it might not be worth the extra $1.50 per quart.

Pros:
stuff you can trust, it's purple
Cons:
spendyish
I don't feel bad if I go a little over 5000 miles between changes. Maybe that's just my way of making myself feel better.
