not sure what the shake was from, but on my wrx wagon, this mod made daily driving a little better and not as sluggish.
if you are at all worried about hurting your car, then do more research into crank pulleys, as mine started to get vibrations after 5 months or more, so it shouldn\'t have been the install.

As with all underdrive crank pulleys, installation can be a nightmare. I lucked out and was able to install mine by myself w/o much fuss and without air tools.
I\'ve noticed that at idle my A/C and headlights will dim very slightly, and my voltmeter will read about 13.8V instead of the 14.4V that I get at speed. However, it\'s never caused any issues w/ the electrical system (battery charging, stereo, etc). I\'d say that the underdrive is just about right!

Unfortunately for me I didn\'t have any airtools for this install so it was a bit tricky but it hasn\'t given me any problems since the install.

Picked up one used from an i-club\'er and looking for belts now. The old ones he gave me were from Bando with these part numbers:
5PK850 = Bando USA part number (also have seen listed as 5PK0850)
Physical dimensions: 33-5/8\" x 11/16\"
4PK870 = Bando USA part number (also have seen listed as 4PK0870)
Physical dimensions: 34-1/2\" x 9/16\"
I looked on Bando\'s website and there is a PDF listed with their part numbers cross referenced with industry standard numbers too. As I am finding other brands and their associated numbers, I will add them to the list:
335K5 = Industry number
343K4 = Industry number

5050335 = Dayco (33-1/2\" x 45/64\")
5040345 = Dayco (34-1/2\" x 9/16\")

K050335 = Gates
K040343 = Gates

EDIT 06.30.05: I went to Autozone today after looking up the parts online. I bought their part numbers: 335K5 and 342K4 which are their versions of 5PK850 and 4PK870 (which numbers were stamped onto the new belts). This adds another $20 to the $50 I already spent on the used pulley. But, mission accomplished...now on to the install!
It appears that the Vishnu pulley discolors from the engine heat and is with age, turns a more dark purple color vs. the original black as shown on the Vishnu website (thanks Wingless Wonder for uploading my photos).
Can\'t wait to get it installed. Will post my review later, but at least wanted to get replacement belt numbers up for others who may need to replace them and have trouble with local auto part stores who don\'t list Bando\'s numbers in their computers (like PepBoys here in San Jose).
EDIT 07.6.05: I just installed the UD pulley and it was a really easy install. The only problem I had was getting the 5-rib belt on. It almost didn\'t want to fit over the alternator pulley. Wrestled with it for a bit and finally got it on and locked down.
Like people have said, there is a noticeable difference in physical size and weight between the two pullies. Once on, I took it for a drive around the block and instantly noticed improved throttle response. I almost feel it relieved some of the small initial lag when taking off. It just feels better throughout the RPM band now. I can\'t wait to get my Bosal uppipe installed so I can get my Vishnu Stage Zero reflash...
EDIT 07.14.05: Having lived with the UD pulley for over a week now in some pretty hot weather, I\'ve noticed at idle the AC isn\'t as cool as it could be. But once moving or on the throttle it cools back down again. Not a huge deal in my opinion. I have yet to experience any light dimming issues as stated before. That seems solid. Still love the pulley but quickly becoming accustomed to the quicker response and craving more power!

Just finished putting this pulley into my \'04 WRX. It is considerably lighter than the stock pulley, and the fitment onto the crankshaft is very good. The 5 rib belt was a pain to get on, actually had to get it half way on, then use the engine starter to rotate it all the way on. It worked for me, but I wouldn\'t suggest it for others. Just as a side note, I got this pulley kit as part of the Vishnu Stage 0 upgrade, and the ECU reflash is simply awesome. Going to install the up-pipe tomorrow, and we\'ll see what my car can do.
