I thought my WRX was the most uncomfortable vehicle I had ever owned untill I bought this armrest. Unlike some of the other reviews I have read about the 03 armrest, this armrest doesnt feel cheap and I have had no problems with the latch in 50k miles. It has 2 compartments to store stuff in and I have a lot of stuff packed in it.

Very expensive for what it is, might get in the way of shifting
This is an armrest extension. Simple and accomodating, this gives you a place to rest your arm where none existed before.
However, because of the height of the armrest extension, it might get in the way of shifting for some people as your elbow might bump against it. Also, it is very expensive, and I would recommend finding it used or negotiating with the dealership for it to be free.

I was very satisfied with this purchase.... When driving, before I got this, I found myself using my right hand on the wheel constantly. Personally, I like to hold the steering wheel with my left hand, resting my elbow on the door, but whenever I found myself in this position, my right arm felt out of place. I tried placing my hand on my leg, or even kind of up on my hip, like someone\'s stance as they were standing.
Getting to the point, I was not very comfortable while driving. I stumbled across this arm rest while looking around for stuff to add to my car. I was a bit scepticle at first, because it appeared that it would get in the way of shifting. I sat in my car and acted as if I had the arm rest (I had gotten all the measurements so I had an idea of how big it was). Sitting there with my right arm proped up in the air, I began to smile and thought to myself, \"hey, this would feel pretty good.\" Then, I went through my gears and came to the conclusion that I would have plenty of room for shifting.
So I went back inside and ordered it. And now, after having it in, I am very glad that I did. It matches everything very nicely. The install was simple, Subaruparts.com was nice enough to include instructions for install. Use the instructions, it just makes things that much easier. The hardest part about the install was switching the latches, even that was not very difficult. After getting it in, I sat in the driver\'s seat. It felt much nicer than went I \"air tested\" it. The feeling was so comfortable, that I went for a little ride with it and the shifting was not a problem. I could rest my elbow on it and move my hand down and it is a perfect reach to the shift knob.
I highly recommend this product. It gives a little more storage space, it makes the ride much more comfortable, and it enhances the interior look.

Pros:
better then haveing your arm hang in the air

not cheap, won\'t hold body weight in turns, clip snaps off
I got mine cause my car did not come with one. Last car got me used to arm rest. wasn\'t cheep. Found out the hard way that in sharp turns it will not hold body weight if leaned on. The clip that holds it shut is crappy plastic and will pop off. can be slapped back in but still, that gets old.
