With increasing demand for high HP packages the need for a strong transmission has never been greater. TurboXS has teamed up with PPG to design a gear set for high HP WRXs utilizing optimized gear ratios to get the most from your engine! While primarily utilizing racing transmission technology we made sure this upgrade is smooth shifting and quiet, allowing you to drive it during the week and race it on the weekends.
STRONG
If you want a transmission that will hold up over 300 WHP, this is your answer. By utilizing "deep 5 dog" engagements, gears can be made wider and therefore stronger than a comparable synchronized box. Synchronizers can also inhibit the ability to shift fast, often resulting in a missed shift and broken gears, especially during the 1-2 shift. This kit includes a billet chrome molly 1-2 shift fork so you can shift with confidence!
Gears are CNC machined from case hardened steel using PPG proprietary tooth profiling technology. Each gear tooth profile gives optimum strength, tooth contact ratios, and correct operating pressure angles, delivering long lasting, high performance gears.
A one- piece input shaft, while more difficult and expensive to manufacture, offers superior strength compared to a two-piece design.

SMOOTH
Dog engagements specifically designed using a "deep 5 dog" for fast and smooth shifting. While shifting a dog box still takes some technique, shifting is solid, and engaging the next gear is extremely easy without having to perfectly rpm match. *While full throttle shifting is this transmissions forte, double clutching during everyday use will result in quiet shifts that do not require rpm matching and will increase dog ring life. This is easy and becomes second nature in no time.
QUIET
The TurboXS Dog Box uses the latest technology to helically cut gears with a proprietary tooth profile, eliminating gear "whine" normally associated with straight cut dog boxes.
Factory gear ratios have you falling out of the powerband too easily on the critical 1-2 shift.
The TurboXS Dog Box gear ratios are designed to optimize all shift points by keeping rpms at about 5000 rpm. Factory gears have rpms falling to 4000 during the critical 1-2 shift, but the TurboXS gearing keeps you right in the power at 5000 rpm. We achieve this by making 1st gear more useful with a slightly taller ratio. TurboXS also shortens 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear ratios for quicker acceleration. These shorter ratios also make gearing much more useful during everyday driving, especially when using larger turbochargers.
