Description: Built for performance and show, the Typhoon™ Air Intake System is a free-flowing mandrel-bent aluminum tube induction system designed to fit many sport compact performance vehicles. Typhoon intakes come in one of three designs; cold air intakes (CA), short ram intakes (SR), or complete cold air (CCA) intakes which can be configured as either a cold air intake or a short ram intake. They also come in four finishes, polished aluminum (part ends with TP), powder coated blue (part ends in TB), powder coated red (part ends in TR), and powder coated silver (ends in TS). K&N intake systems replace your vehicle's restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. K&N intakes are designed to dramatically reduce intake restriction allowing more air flow to your engine. More air means more usable power and acceleration throughout the engine's RPM range.

Pros: Awesome Looks, Awesome construction, Great performance enhancer
Cons: PITA to install

It was a PITA to install. Some of the instructions seemed like they were made before they actually developed the product fully. The 2 screws for the MAF into the intake pipe did not fit. The holes in the intake pipe itself were drilled too small. Other than that small problem Installation was fun. With the black metal frame the intake will not shift and slide around. It is held firmly to the engine bay. The rubber gasket on the top seals with the hood to make an airtight seal so that dirt and debris will not dirty your engine bay. Can feel the pull from 2500rpm\'s. Just a great intake. No CEL\'s! MORE POWER!

Pros: Build quality is evident. Nice turbo spool and BOV sound.
Cons: Time consuming to install, but not too bad!

Took a while to piece together, but was rewarding in the end. Very nice to hear the turbo and BOV now. Seems to pull a little harder after 2500rpm. No Cels!! Usual K&N quality. Two thumbs up!!

Pros: Looks great and matches with the intake manifold
Cons: No carb #, not legal

Great intake overall. It leans out a stock sti pretty well, making a little bit more power and you can also tell the difference by how much more clean your trunk is! Makes a neat sound if your into that. Install was not really easy for me. Go get one

Pros:
Cons:

super easy to install, definatly noticable power around 2500 rpms and i love the sound it makes. K&N is a name to stand by for quality and power. if you want to buy an intake this is the one you want!

---UPDATE: i am still running this on my wrx but about a month ago i got pulled over and got a ticket for my exhaust and this intake. so i talked to the guys at K&N and they told me that this is a CARB legal intake on this car. so after sending them some pics they sent me a CARB sticker and now everything is cool

Pros: i love the heat shield
Cons: fitment problems with a fmic

this thing is great. Sounds great too why get a bov when you got this thing. Plus I didn't feel like I lost any power either. But didn't feel like I gained much with it on. When i switched to a fmic I couldn't use the heatshield anymore and the filter is super big but hey it fits. Plus the maf works fine with it. I know some intakes messes up the maf sensor because of the location but with the k&n there is no problems. Oh and if you can get a k&n carb sticker thats a bonus.
