Track-developed, extremely lightweight, straight-form, free-flow design of
Super Racing Medalion extracts the full potential of all highly-tuned
engines. Unlike competitors, after our thorough research, the densities of
the packing material were calculated to Tanabe’s own specifications to
achieve a deep, sporty exhaust tone while minimizing excess packing material
weight and canister size.

Pros:
Great deep, throaty sound, high quality, perfect fit for USDM cars, looks great
Cons:
Tip is big but short. Doesn't look quite as good IMHO as the HKS Carbon/Ti
I bought this when I really wanted the HKS Carbon/Ti.
I couldn't afford the HKS, plus I heard that it wasn't designed for the USDM WRX exhaust system, since it had a different flange for bolting to the midpipe.
A friend of mine told me that Tanabe makes great quality exhaust sytems, and I found a great deal ($375 shipped from Fizz in N.Y.)
The Super Racing Medallion has a polished Stainless Steel can, non-polished bare Stainless Steel piping, and high-quality Stainless Steel exhaust hangers, bolts, hardware, and gasket (between Resonater and Cannister).
The system includes a Stainless Steel silencer, bolts and washers, but you won't need it unless you have a catless DP/MP.
I noticed a mild increase in power in the midrange & top end.
The sound is really deep, throaty, and nicel, but NOT RICE!!! Not too loud. When I pull up to peep's homes, they think a sportbike or a Porsche pulled up outside.
It honestly sounds like my old '99 Kawasaki ZX-9R with the Muzzy Stainless Steel full system w/headers.
Installation was very easy & straightforward, and I believe it is CARB legal in California.
IMHO it looks great!

I always wanted this system. I thought about buying the HKS Carbon system, but didn't see the advantage, other than the bling factor.
I chose the Tanabe SRM sytem mainly for the weight aspect...24lbs. While most stainless cat-back were averaging about 30lbs.
Straigh pipes yield less restrictions. And you can rebuild the muffler by putting new packing in there.
I love the sound. This system excentuate the boxer engine sound. This also sounds like a Supra with full exhaust.
Only one thought to consider is that the piping is 70 mm vs. some at 80 mm. This might be a restriction if your power goal is 350+ whp. Anything below that should be OK with this Tanabe system.

Pros:
Great construction, light weight
Cons:
Only 70mm piping, is FRICKEN loud w/o cats and silencer
Great product, espeically with the capability to put a silencer. However, if you have a down pipe and are going catless, the db\'s are up there. Pipe diameter should\'ve been a 3\" .

Pros:
Nice design, easily installs, and fits perfect.
Cons:
Too loud when cruising down the freeway
I only have one complaint and that is it is to loud cruising down the freeway. I have to turn up the radio just to drown out the exhaust. But that is the price you pay for takin out all the cats and using a straight through design of that of the Tanabe. Other than that has a nice rumble when idling and your friends know its you when you pull up.

Pros:
awesome fit and (sti) huge 80mm pipe great sound
Cons:
look (tip to short for my tastes), fit of baffle
Awesome fit with new hardware included. Sounds deep and has that beautiful boxer thump. I never really use the baffle, but when I do its a pain in the rear to remove, and I don\'t really like the way the tip is but thats not why I got it.
High quality, no fitment issues at all, and wonderful sound (heard it on a friends car)
