Cobb customer service is awsome, they have helped me with all my problems and questions.
Great way to add power!!!

Limited maps for classes of mods

I can\'t say enough about my respect for a small company that can reverse engineer the Subaru ECU, and bring a product to market for less than the cost of a single ECUTek reflash/license.
Open the box, plug the AccessPort in, choose the desired map, come back in 7 minutes and your car is Accessport enabled. Now to change maps it takes 10 seconds.
I\'ve run stage 2, and now I run the VF34 map on my 02 wrx, and I\'ve never been more pleased. The power delivery is improved over the stock ECU in the smoothness/seamlessness department, not to mention the 100-ish extra horsepower.
One of the most attractive parts of the accessport for me is that it actually has a resale value. Sure you could squeeze out 5-8% more horsepower with a custom dyno tuned ECUTek reflash. But the resultant reflash is worthless in the resale market; who wants to buy an ECU tuned for another persons specific set of mods? The answer is no one. On the other hand, the wide acceptance of Accessport and generic mod \"Stages\" make a \"used\" accessport just as valuable as a new one. (Especially with the long wait for a new one).

The Accessport was so easy to use. If you plan to slightly modify your car then this will be way to go. I am running the Stage 2 map and i feel my car is plenty fast enough for me. But we\'ll see how long before I want to upgrade my turbo.

very easy to use, no need to send ecu to Cobb

Cons:

Im very happy with my purchase. When I first flashed stage 1 93 oct I wasnt hitting target boost so I downloaded the hwg map off of Cobbs site and that fixed the problem. If I would have sent the ecu in for a flash instead of buying the accessport, I would have had to send it in again. IMO aside from some dyno tuneing, this is the best bang for the buck when it comes to power mods.

only one. the CEL light for the cat keeps coming on in stage 2
|
|
Accessport for the sti. Car worked perfectly at stage one with zero mods. Power gain was definitely there as well as improved response.
tried stage 2 91 oct after a turbo xs stealth w/ stock muffler was thrown on. power is awesome and even better, but the CEL light keeps coming on. if they get rid of the CEL light, then they have a perfect product.
stilll highly recommended.

Great product. Using Stg 2 and car runs stronger and smoother. Can also use the AccessPort to disable your car to prevent theft. Due to the high demand right now, expect to wait at least a couple months to receive it. It is worth the wait though.

The best bang for your buck. A highly recommended purchase. It feels good to take a stock WRX, plug in an AP, drop in a K&N filter and some new intercooler hoses and have the fastest car on the road. If you don\'t notice the difference, you\'re nuts....
ps... sometimes the backorder can be 10 weeks.... buy an AP before you buy your car!!!

Cobb has been great about continuing to support their product. When people weren\'t hitting target boost, they brought out an adjusted map. Cobb is also the only company that has answered technical questions I have asked about their products.

Great product. Huge gains. only problems I have with this is that they dont make enough maps or upgrade paths. Cobb also puts off their products a lot. Meaning their release dates are often pushed back and back and back and back. GREAT customer service though. WHERE\'S STAGE 3!?!?!?!

I loved this, but there is nothing above stage 2, so if you want more power for your STi then you are extremely limited.

I just got this for the \'05 STi. It was released Dec 13, 2004.
They\'ve made it work with the imobilizer ECUs.
The only scary part is the initial flash that, if power is disrupted, may render your ECU inoperable and needs to be sent to Cobb. Then you would have to have your car towed to a dealer to get the imobilizer portion setup agian.
I didn\'t have that problem but it\'s a good idea to think about where your car is when you do the initial flash.
I used the Stage 1 91 octane base map.
Boost comes on quicker and stays there. No detenation or spiking issues.
I can\'t wait to get a turbo back exhaust so I can run the Stage 2 setup.
Cobb claims 320HP / 340 ft-lbs for stage 1 and 345HP / 385 ft-lbs for stage 2 (91 octaine).
I\'m hoping they come out with a wider variety of maps for the STi like the WRX gets to support different mods.

For the gains you get with this mod and the install time it is the best $600 I\'ve spent. I would definately tell anyone to get an AP. You will never want to use the \"revert back to stock\"
Ive heard stories that the Accessport had problems, causing cars to stall. I have never had this problem, but a friend has. They seem to have updated their software to fix the problem. If you are thinking about this mod, do it you will never look back.

the cobb ap is good because you can have the option of using different stages map instantly and can convert to stock also all in your car. The maps are ok but i feel a real tune is a better way to go. I am runnign this unit mainly because of warranty. I do not recommend it if your lookin for real power
