My dealings with Maita Hyundai-Subaru were with one sales representative, Billy Cummings. He was always helpful, always enthusiastic about the WRX, but never did I feel like he was pushing me into a sale I wasn't ready for.
When they didn't have the color or transmission combination that I was looking for, I asked about ordering a car that fit my exact needs. Billy, once again, did not try to stick me with a car sitting on the lot that he knew I would not be happy with. He helped me order the car I really wanted from Japan. I paid MSRP, which I did not consider unreasonable because every dealer really likes to make a quick sale from cars sitting on the lot.
Billy told me that the projected delivery date would be 8 to 10 weeks, but it took only about 6 or 7 weeks. It was probably determined by how they could fit my custom-built car into the assembly schedule in Japan. The car arrived and it was exactly as ordered.
It does make a difference which sales representative you choose to deal with. I was visiting the parts department at Maita and crossed paths with a sales rep I hadn't met. He tried to tell me that they were not going to let any STi go for less than $4000 over MSRP (this was before they actually arrived - we know differently now). I didn't get this bozos name but I know I'll never deal with him in the future.
I am happy with the service and courtesy extended by Billy Cummings and Maita Subaru.
EDIT: Billy Cummings no longer works at Maita Hyundai-Subaru as of 2004.

Pros:
Location, Service department, A few club freindly employes!
Cons:
Internet sales, some annoying salesmen, ignore the markups
Somehow I always end up back at Maita. Every other shop is either too small in scale, has too funky of service department, or doesnt have anyone I can talk to on the sales staff. I almost exclusivly do my contacts here with Chris Jones in the sales staff (a club member for awhile now! Great guy all around, more of a friend than a salesman to me) and Jim and Curtis in the Service department.
My family has purchased 3 cars here now, 2 new one used, all scoobs. My car took a little bit of effort to pry from their hands, but otherwise the new car purchase here has been very painless.
The Service department is definatly top notch amongst the Sac area dealerships!!!

Pros:
Quick service. Took care of my problem with ease.
Cons:
none that i saw
I first took my car into Florin Subaru and they could not figure out what was wrong with my car. Went in to Matia and reported hearing a whinning noise coming from the rear of the car. They took it in and found metal shaving in the rear diff oil. Changed out my rear diff. Noise went away.
Quick and painless was their customer service.

Pros:
quick, easy, not pushy
Cons:
a few shady salesmen
I dealt with Zeke Wong through there internet sales dept. I got the price i was quoted for over email. Everything went smooth .. very relaxed, not pushy at all. Very upfront and honest. Some of the salesmen on the floor seemed a little shady .. so try to deal with Zeke Wong.

I bought my 2006 WRX TR from Maita Subaru. It was my first car purchase. I have been places with my parents when they purchased cars, but i have never seen a dealership treat someone so well. At Maita, I dealt with Sai. Probably one of the greatest salesperson i have ever encountered. Not only did he help me with my car, he helped my find the perfect car for me, and kept in touch with me for a few months until i was able to purchase the car.

Pros:
Freindly, helpful, knowledgable
Cons:
Salespersons..then again who likes them anyway? A persons gotta earn a living.
The parts department is top notch and the service department has a great head mechanic he really knows his stuff and easy to talk to. The people working at the Maita Subaru actually care about their job. The Sales people are lacking in the fact they get rotated through Hyundai and Toyota so their specific knowledge of Subarus lack..and of course they're sales people so the world is allready against them.
A word of advice, you car is a big part of your life and if you're willing to put time into griping about bad service. Maybe you havent tried to get to know the people working on your car. Its worth it in this day and age, since you rely on those four wheels to get you everywhere.
Phew Im glad I got off that soap box..man I hate heights.
