Description: HKS SSQV Blowoff Valve kits are vehicle specific kits that allow for integration of SSQV units into stock turbo and intercooler assemblies. These HKS kits include all needed mounting brackets, mounting flanges and piping for each specific application.

The HKS Super Sequential Blowoff Valve (SSQV) is a dual stage pull type relief valve. Unlike other blow off valves that are push type, the SSQV will not leak under high boost conditions nor under vacuum at idle. Being of a pull type valve structure, the SSQV can not physically leak under any level of boost because boost pressure also keeps the valve closed against its seat. The SSQV is actuated by pressure alterations only, not by the rate of pressure or vacuum in the line, which ensures a quick valve response and complete closure during idle. On typical blow-off valve designs, a large valve is utilized in order to accommodate high boost / high horsepower applications. However, these large valves tend to react slowly and require high activation pressure to open, therefore are not able to activate and prevent compressor surge at light-load conditions. On the other hand, smaller, fast reacting valves do not discharge the airflow capacity required for high horsepower applications and tend to creep open and leak as the boost pressure overpowers the spring on these push type valves. For maximum performance, the HKS SSQV incorporates both a small primary valve for ultra quick activation, along with a larger secondary valve for additional discharge capacity. The SSQV is engineered to initially open the small primary valve at light throttle and load conditions, then sequentially opens the secondary valve for additional relief capacity under high boost and load conditions. The SSQV is constructed of polished billet aluminum, which ensures long-term durability and visual appeal. The mounting base utilizes a circular mounting flange that provides exception flow and complete secure mounting via a C-clip snap ring and O-ring gasket. The triple-fin discharge port design produces a powerful and unique aggressive blowoff sound along with added visual distinction. The HKS SSQV is available as a universal unit for custom applications and also by vehicle specific kits for bolt-on applications. Vehicle specific HKS SSQV kits come complete with all needed mounting flanges, brackets, and miscellaneous hardware for a bolt-on installation. For Universal SSQV applications, weld-on flanges are available in steel and aluminum for custom installation.

Pros: Easy install. (It's just a bov)
Cons: None

The great B.O.V. sound debate is a long and tiring one.
This valve has a loud high pitched sound that may not be for everybody.
I love it cause is not the same sound you hear on other cars.

Pros: great sound
Cons: makes teh car run really rich. i can definitly feel power loss, more turbo lag

this product does give off a good sound of whooosh. but i dont think it is worth it, because it makes the car run really rich, loss of power, more turbo lag. with this bov on the car, the rpms drop rapidly inbetween shifts. i dont know if it is just me, but i get a little over 50 miles less per tank, even though i dont step on it to blow off just for fun. i would reccomend getting a recirculated bov, unlike this 100% atmosphere to air

Pros: probably the best application for high boost/horsepower motors.
Cons: loss of power with stock settings.

it has a nice high pitch sound, with adjustable tuning. its best when used on high boost/horsepower cars. you will experience a loss of power if you are using it with a stock setup. the great thing about the ssqv is that it is probably the best, if not one of the best bov's that can handle the intense pressure of high boosting.

Pros: Easy Installation, beautiful whissle sound, looks good, No leak
Cons: none

Install was less than 5min, sounds awesome and unique. also you can change the fin on the end for different sounds. Does NOT leak any air at idle and can NOT leak any air what so ever.
great product and looks great to.

Pros: sound sound sound!
Cons: hitting the hood

The sound is friggin SWEET! Has a nice wistle/whoosh that WILL get attention. Very unique sound similar to external wategates but w/o the \"flutter.\" Downside is that the unit hits the padding on the inside of your hood and wears a scuff mark in the unit.

Pros: sound
Cons:

originally had a turboxs bov, took it off and it got boring without the noise so i got the hks. its a great sounding bov, if you like the whistle sound. but most important is the loudness. if you need to get someones attention this is the one to get it. i love it more and more everyday

Pros: Nice looking piece, not to loud
Cons: Also not to loud

I didnt think this blow off was loud enough but, around certain parts of town I find myself wishing I kept it as it sound is not as attention grabbing as some of the others.

Pros: sounds great
Cons: not a 50/50 bov

i loved the sound, no other bov has the great sound that the hks one has, it is so addicting! the only problem is that is is not 50/50, so i took it off, but i might regret it

Pros: sounds great, doesnt flutter, easy to adjust
Cons:

Car only runs rich inbetween shifts which isnt very long. Comes set for jdm sti\'s which is why people have some problems and is EASLY fixed by adjusting the screw in the back.

Pros: Nice sound. Great head turner
Cons: Loss of power

The product is great to have. If you want attention, then this will definitely give you one. At first, I have a little bit of a problem with the RPM when I shift gear, My car dies on the middle of the road while i\'m driving while the car is still moving. But, I adjusted the pressure and it worked fine- never happened again. It definitely eats a lot of gas. I lost about 20 miles when I put the BOV in my car.
As for the power loss, didn\'t really notice it that much. I still ran 14.5s at the track with stock setup.

Pros: Excellent Quality / Fit / Finish / Sound
Cons: None

I really like this blow off valve. I have tried several: (TXS RFL, SARD, Blitz, GFB, Worx) and out of all of them the HKS impressed me the most. The sound is great, it looks sweet, and can be made into 50/50. I never noticed any mileage per gallon drop in my fuel economy, even when \"spirited driving\" was an issue. I recommend it to everyone.

Pros: Huge Sound
Cons: Bad gas mileage, power loss

it has a great sound but i wanted a product that would enhance my car performance wise. I didnt know that my car would lose power from it. With the bov and the intake i installed my turbo screams and when people see i have a wagon they dont believe it

Cons: loud can get you in trouble lol jk

was anoying at first (im anti bov) it came with a used fmic kit i picked up its welded into the piping so its gonna be a chore to replace it, thought id just leave it alone well it kinda has grown on me i like the thing now mine dosnt hit the hood cause of the location on my ic piping but sounds clean at high boost

Pros: looks nice - gives your car some bling
Cons: it causes backfiring, hesitation, and messes up the idle - the high pitched noise sucks - it\'s expensive and an absolute waste of money

BOV are a waste of money-especially 100% atmospheric venting ones such as this one-also, the sound this one emits sounds like a squeal

Pros: great sound
Cons: car bucks a little when shifting. rpms drop faster between shifts

Very nice sounding bov. Only \"bad\" fitment about this is the hood will come in contact which results in minor scraping of the bov. That\'s about it. Great as far as the sound is concerned if that\'s what you want.

Pros: i gained about 50 ricepower
Cons: might be just my imagination, but some loss of power

i picked this BOV off used from another member. i know it has absolutely no use for the mods i have, but hot diggity it sounds good. i originally wanted the swoosh sound, but this high pitched one is growing on me.

install wasn\'t bad, the fit looks a bit tight, but no problems have come up.

Pros: great sound
Cons: probably loss of power

i bought this used off another member.

the metal nipple that attaches to the BOV isn\'t very secure, i think i need to buy another one.

when i first installed it the vaccum line wasn\'t 100% secure and i had a boost leak.

aside from that stuff i do enjoy the sound very much. maybe deep down inside i\'m a ricer.

i know it doesn\'t do anything good, probably more harm than i know, but i enjoy it. makes driving so much more fun

Pros: not quiet, distinct sound
Cons: everyone has this now.. sounds like bird chrip

this was the first bov i had bought in 03 from bozz for way too much money. it touches the hood when the hood is closed so theres proably a mark on top of everyones hks bov. i got annoyed of hearing this noise over and over so took it off after awhile, lthough it worked well without leaks and didnt make my car perform like crap.

Pros: sounds cool
Cons: its stupid, just for sound makes performance worse

you can take out the triple fin in the bov to make it a straight WOOOSH instead of a whistle. but it still makes your car run rich during shifts

Pros: Good clean sound...it actually does it\'s job unlike some shitty bov\'s (turboXS)...
Cons: Some may not like the high-pitched sound.

Just looks clean in both design and performance. The sound is a good solid bov ppppssss, which is what most are looking for in their bov\'s. I definately recommend it.
