Description: The IHI VF-34 Turbo is found on the limited production Subaru v7 WRX STI-RA (GDB). This turbo is differentiated from the VF30 through it's more advanced bearing design. The bearing design allows for much quicker turbo spool-up (depending on tuning, 300-500 RPMs over the VF30), while retaining the power capabilities of the VF30. The VF34 is capable of 350 HP (~300 whp) This turbo is a direct bolt-on for all GC8, GDA, GDB EJ20 turbo engines. This is an excellent replacement turbo for those looking for substantial power gains while maintaining streetability.

Pros: car is a lot faster with this in
Cons: more lag than stock

spools slightly faster than the VF30, don\'t know if it\'s worth over the VF30 in terms of just street and highway driving

Pros: 3200 full boost
Cons: falls off a bit up top

It was a great turbo when I first installed it, as lag was minimal and the power over stock was no contest I would recommend this with supporting mods to any one who was ready for more power than stock.

Pros: Great power / spool / midrange!
Cons: not enough top end

This turbo is an excellent choice for those who want a streetable turbo. Look for 100whp gain over stock with a full setup to accompany the turbo. With a FMIC the lag isn\'t even that bad, full boost coming on at ~3600rpms.

Pros: over all feel, power over stock
Cons: none

If you want an excellent turbo for the street then this is it. I installed this with all the supporting components and a tmic and the difference from stock was awesome. I have been to Thunder hill raceway a number of times and this turbo is great for the track as well as on the street. The only con I can think of is gas mileage becoming worse and turbo spool. Although the spool up is good compared to most aftermarket turbos.

Pros: pulls like a monster
Cons: top end is a little week

I love this turbo, you can feel a great amount of difference from the stock turbo. I really don't notice the lag or anything, it kicks in at the right time. But if you like more power in the top ends, this turbo is not for you.

Pros: great
Cons: great

some people say it goes flat on top end, with right tune and right boost controller it will hold full boost at low end.
