The Dual Solenoid Boost Controller Spec R (DSBC Spec R) has four programmable boost settings or various levels of boost. This unit features a built-in boost gauge, peak boost dis.play, four different boost settings, boost warning, scramble boost, and a boost limiter safety feature to prevent over boosting. The DSBC Spec R uses a dual solenoid design for maximum boost response. This unit is capable of handling boost up to 2.5bar (36psi). The DSBC Spec R is 1/4 din in size and is compatible with internal actuators and external wastegates. This unit is available in a silver case with an green LCD display. The difference between the DSBC Spec R and Spec S is the solenoid design. Spec R uses dual solenoid while the Spec S uses a single solenoid design.

Pros:
Easy install, excellent quality, best bang for the buck

Single gain setting
This is definitely the best bang for the buck when it comes to boost controllers. Many others, including other Blitz products have many bells and whistles. But with the Spec-R you get all you need, including the priceise dual solenoid, with no B.S. You want the fancy interface with many features you'll never use (for most people), get the iD. If not, the Spec-R is for you.
You get 4 boost settings with one gain setting. The limiter will keep you from ever throwing an overboost cell again. Scramble boost is pretty useless as it is on any street car, so it seems to me.
The only down side is that you are stuck with a single gain setting for each boost setting. This makes setup a bit more tricky. Once you get it down you can find a way to make one gain setting work. But its hard to have very varying boost settings with out generating wild spikes on the same gain. The SBD-iD allows a different gain setting for each boost setting. But then, I find this is only necessary if you are doing drastic changes when, say, at the track. I like to run at the drag strip or road course with settings similar or just a bit more than what I do on the street. So over all, this is the perfect boost controller for me.

Pros:
Nice install with easy to follow instructions.
Cons:
Hard to figure out at first.
It's hard to figure but once you get it, it's the easiest thing to operate.
Also my favorite mod on my car.
