The Super AVC-R is the premium closed-loop electronic boost controller on the market. The AVC-R allows flexible control over virtually every aspect of boost control and adds new innovative functions such as injector pulse monitoring and gear specific boost control. Some key functions include: RPM-based boost and solenoid duty cycle control, scramble boost, self learning mode, 2D ghost map trace mode, analog display mode, real time replay and peak hold data modes. Pros: Produced noticable, usable power gains across the board.
Cons: Took awhile to configure the settings properly.

The AVC Type R is an awesome product for the enthusiast who doesn't want to upgrade the turbo, injectors, or intercooler. On it's own it is capable of large horsepower gains, but coupled with a few other common upgrades such as: free-flowing exhaust, I/C hoses, and Up/Down pipes; it is capable of large improvements in both horsepower and torque figures. Gauges are pretty much a necessity for setting this electronic gadget up. At the very least, an EGT gauge is manditory so you don't fry your engine from excessive boost. I am very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone wanting some noticable power gains that cost less than $500. I have a three-page Word document with all my settings listed if anyone needs has questions.

Pros: great bang for the $$$ / cool factor
Cons: takes time to configure properly/ spliced ecu wires

This is a great EBC for the buck. Not for beginers. I wouldn't recomend newbees to try tuning themselves. Install took longer than expected but not too hard (MUST HAVE ACCURATE WIREGRAM). With a few exhaust mod and propper tunning = V-8 killer.

Pros: great looking display...pretty accurate read outs...no dangerous boost spikes yet
Cons: hose connections made of plastic...not for beginners

first of all its got the bling bling factor goin on....not to mention this thing actually works...i personally love the fact you can pre-set target boost to individual gears....acurate read outs...when you get bored of one display you can use another...

only trouble i had was those plastic hose connectors....if mounted next to a hot surface they\'ll melt really fast...it happend to my vacuum hose the one that tells the wastegate to open...well when the connector melted it got cloged causing the wastgate not to open at all....u could prolly guess what would have happend next if i didnt fix that problem.

Pros: Gear specific boost control
Cons: Steep learning curve

I got this a few years ago when it first came out. It is THE boost controller to have if youre ECU isn\'t up to it. Gear specific boost control means you can boost hi in the lower gears and not experience boost spikes or creep in the higher gears.

There\'s an ambient light sensor to aloow the display to dim at night.

The display options are wonderful.

Pros: Good power for the $
Cons: Had to get rid of it when I did other mods

The AVC-R allowed my car to over boost in a slow roll on... The one wire set up is not an Ideal mesh with the Subi\'s Computer. I got rid of it when I replaced my turbo.
