1up-pipe_kit.jpg

Description: The first and still the best up-pipe on the market. Unmatched in construction, materials and durability, our now legendary Vishnu Up-Pipe sets the standards that all other up-pipes are judged by. Made of ultra-high quality 321 (not 304) Stainless Steel, CNC-cut ½ inch thick Stainless Steel flanges and heavy-duty flange reinforcements on both ends, our Up-Pipe will last the test of time. Good for approximately 10 wheel horsepower and a 100-200 degree F reduction in exhaust gas temperatures. 321 durability insures maximum reliability in all-out race applications where sustained EGTs can get the best of any lesser material.

Pros: nice welds...great construction
Cons: cost

I have had this up-pipe on the car for over a year never had any issues with leaks from the gaskets or the egt...fit and finish second to none.

Pros: Quality and design. "Extra" O2 bung.
Cons: Price

I got one of the preproduction pipes before they were even sold to the puplic. Even the first ever pipe fit with no problems, even though I did it at a racetrack in 100 'F temps. Getting it to seal takes some work, but if you know what you are doing it will seal just fine.

Pros: superior quality, perfect welds
Cons: price

Never had a problem with the Vishnu Up-pipe. 321 steel very nice.
As everyone points out, this up-pipe retails for at least $100 more than others, but I believe it's worth it.

Pros: excellent quality, materials
Cons:

Comes with all parts necessary for installation, including gaskets and fasteners.

Use care to follow installation instructions supplied by Vishnu or at http://www.scoobymods.com/forums/sho... threadid=194.

The machine-threaded holes of my uppipe had some very fine metal shavings, almost a powder, which should be cleaned out with Brakleen (or equivalent) or blown out with compressed air before assembly.

Purchased as part of Vishnu Stage Zero kit.

Pros: awesome quality and fitment
Cons: none that I can think of

Superb part. Quality was terrific, the install was a pain in the butt as everyone knows, but the fitment was perfect. Have had it on the car for 10k miles with no issues.

Pros:
Cons: Leaked often. no resale value if you try to sell it

Welds were good but it leaked even with thicker gaskets. Had 2 leaks over all then got a flex joint pipe.

Pros: High quality, O2 bung
Cons: Leaks

Despite my leaks, I stil believe this to be one of the better up-pipes on the market. Huge flanges, high quailty welds, O2 sensor bung.

My issues stemmed from living in Reno where I\'d heat cycle my up-pipe from below zero temps, up to thousands of degrees and back fairly frequently in the winter. With those temp cycles, no gasket I had could survive the slight mis-alignment my up-pipe had with my headers. I re-installed that thing 5 times with different gaskets and never got a leak-free install.

Vishnu was cool enough to swap it out for a flex up-pipe that\'s been flawless since the day I installed it.

Pros: Solid construction, Great Fitment
Cons: none except price

This was the first mod I did to the scooby along with the downpipe and it was a great mod. The fitment of this up-pipe was great when I compared it to the fitment of my Bosal TD Downpipe which wasn\'t so good. The construction of the Vishnu pipe is excellent. The welds are all pretty much perfect and the flanges are really strong looking. No problems with EGT or Leaks. Great pipe.

Pros: its 321, vishnu,
Cons: not flex

very high rated materials used to make this uppipe, I just wish it was flex due to the uppipe leaks and the pita to install

Pros: Quality piece, no leaks.
Cons: Didn\'t come thermal coated.

Higher quality than some. Reputable brand. No problems w/ install or leaks. Would be nice if it came w/ a ceramic coating.

Pros: Overall quality. Great welds.
Cons: None

Great first modification. And the extra bung makes adding guages really easy.
