The Dunlop SP Sport 5000 Ultra High Performance All-Season radial was developed to meet the year-round needs of today's sports car, coupe and sedan drivers by blending dry and wet road performance with light snow and slush traction.
On the outside, two SP Sport 5000 tread designs were developed to enhance the tires' comfort, traction and performance characteristics on a by-size basis. Lower profile sizes feature an asymmetric tread design while higher aspect ratio sizes feature a symmetric version. The 55-series and lower profile sizes feature an innovative asymmetric tread design in order to help blend year-round traction and performance. Large interconnected outer shoulder blocks and independent intermediate tread blocks enhance dry road cornering and stability, while the inner tread blocks with open shoulder grooves enhance wet traction and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. The 60-series and higher profile sizes feature a symmetric version of the tread design in which the inner half of the tread design is virtually a mirror image of the outer half. Large shoulder blocks separated by open shoulder grooves and independent intermediate tread blocks are used to balance dry cornering and handling with wet traction and hydroplaning resistance. Full-face, cross-cut sipes are engineered into the tread patterns of all sizes to provide more biting edges for slush and snow traction, and an exclusive high performance all-season tread compound (patent pending) is used to blend traction, treadwear, and rolling resistance to meet a wide range of driving and weather conditions.
Internally, the SP Sport 5000 tire's twin steel belts are reinforced by Dunlop's Jointless Band (JLB) technology which uses spirally wound nylon strips to provide long term integrity under high speed conditions while it reduces weight and helps provide more uniform ride quality. The SP Sport 5000 tires feature sidewalls which resist lateral deflection to generate cornering force, while Max Flange Shield (MFS) rim protector ribs help protect alloy wheels from curb damage.
The SP Sport 5000 tires feature subtle black letter styling and are available in 65-, 60-, 55-, 50-, 45-, and 40-series; H-, V-, and W-speed rated sizes for 15" to 17" wheel diameters. Ultra High Performance ... plus All-Season Versatility ... the SP Sport 5000.

This is a very good Ultra High Performance All-Season Tire. Good dry grip. Excellent wet grip. Work very nicely in the snow.
I purchased these tires for the snow/rain season for my stock rims. Didn't hydro-plane once with these tires...even at 80-90mph in the rain and going through standing water, still maintained contact with the road.
Very good dry performance as well. I will buy these tires again but in 17" due to upgraded brakes.

Don\'t autocross on these tires. But they\'ve survived over a year of my driving in Tennessee mountains, w/snow, ice, occasional trips through the pastures, and they still have 50% tread.
