Pros:
|
Braking performance is definitely a step up from stock.
|
|
Cons:
|
Mine squealed like banshees.
|
|
First off, I had these on the front of a 2002 WRX Wagon.
So the actual braking performance of these pads is pretty good, especially for the price. They have a very high initial bite (which isn't always good) and aren't as easy to modulate at the limit of traction as some other pads out there, but for most people who use them for street and the occasional track day, they do very well. They do dust a fair amount, which is to be expected of any performance brake pad (save for perhaps some carbotechs).
Mine also made a (horrible at times) rhythmic squealing noise when i wasn't on the brakes. The noise would immediately stop once i touched the brake pedal. I tried literally EVERYTHING to fix it to no avail. Some others have had the same problems with these pads while others have had no problems whatsoever. It may have something to do with the fact that Axxis (Bendix) uses ceramic in the pads.

Pros:

Excellent street/track pads, environment friendly
|
|
Cons:
|
Dust like a volcano, some squeak
|
|
Price is for StopTech fronts and stock rear pads.
These pads are very good.
Good, bite, modulation, easy to find lockup threshold, and great fade resistance.
They dust a lot.
No really a LOT.
More than that even!
Better have black, gunmetal, or anthracite wheels unless you can hose them off daily or don't care.

Good price, good for street

Cons:

Not a track pad, can fade if heavy brake foot, dust
|
|
A very good street pad but they dust a lot. Don't use them on the track if you are heavy on the brakes...they will fade. Also they will become noisey after hard track use.
I used these for about 2 track days and after that they became noisey. Went on two very hard drives where I was using the brakes a lot and started getting fade on the second drive which had a lot of down hill. The fade was due to exceeding the pads temp limits and not enough cooling for the brakes rotors.
Got these from StopTech with my stage 1 kit. StopTech doesn't recommend these for track use (via Matt Weiss).
So I ended up getting rid of the pads because I couldn't take the squeeling brake pad sounds on a brand new car. Switched to BrakeMan #9 compound (which is also not a track pad).
Recommend two sets of pads if you're gonna run track.

improvement from stock pads
|
|
Cons:

dust a lot/can be noisy

I have never experienced brake fading with these pads. I think they are a good pad for someone who is looking to track their car and use their car on the street without changing pads. They obviously will not work as well as track pads, but as a happy medium, they are quite good.
They do dust a lot. Expect wheels to get dirty with a day or two of driving after you wash 'em. And they do have the tendency to squeak a bit. (It's just dust caught..)

i burned up a set of stock pads on my first session at the track. Then put in a set of AU's and never had anymore fading the rest of the day. They also work quite well on the street. They will turn gold wheel black in a week.

Stopping is great once they\'re warmed upa little. They dust horribly, but it\'s worth it for the improved feel and stopping power.

Great stopping power, even at the track. I only wish they made these for my STi.
The only drawback is the enormous amount of dust they create.

Solid grab, quiet

|
Cons:

Dust city,

Solid bad. Definate step up from stock pad. Great bad for the aggressive street driver or occassional autoX or track day fan.
I wouldn\'t recommend these as a pure track pad or on a brake intensive track. They are pretty good on the fade side of things but with high track heats, high speeds and lots of braking they\'ll fade like most any other performance STREET pad.
Last longer than some not as long as others.
Dust is rediculous.
All of this has been said before though.
Basically I really recommend this pad because it\'s a great pad for the price and it\'s a great pad for a street driven car.

I got these with the stage 1 kit ($249). I did install them without the rest of the kit since I was in serious need of pads and didnt have the time or friend to bleed the breaks. These pads are definately better than the stockers but they dust like crazy. For the $ these are great pads but when they wear out I will be looking for something else.

DUST
|

Good pads even worked decent in cold (re: less than 10 deg) weather after a few stops. Nice amount of bite, but I got fade after really heavy driving but they were worn pretty well at that point. They just dust so much. I have a white car and the sides would change shades very noticably after a week or so. I won\'t buy them again because of the dust.

Dust?
|
|
I just traded out my stock brake pads on my 03 WRX to these pads, front and rear (my posted price reflects that). I seated the pads just like it said to on the box and was extremely easy on them for the first 300 miles. I have a very, VERY slight squeal when I am almost at a stop with my foot lightly on the pedal...so little of a squeal that you haveto actually listen to hear it. They dust alot more than stock, but I don\'t care, I have steel gray Rotas. Even with my stock rims brake dust doesn\'t bother me. The bite is definately hard, a good upgrade over stock. I\'d recommend them, great pad! I\'m running ATE fluid at this time and will have s/s lines, soon.
