Description: We are excited to offer the most advanced ECU software upgrades for the Subaru WRX made possible by the revolutionary AccessECU technology. By directly accessing the stock ECU, we can reprogram the engine management functions with improved performance in mind without sacrificing any of the robust safety and driveability features Subaru has incorporated.

To safely improve performance, we optimize the fuel, timing and boost curves properly matched to your level of modifications. All safety and protection countermeasures are kept fully in-tact. In addition, rev limits, speed limits, boost limits, and the annoyance of certain Check Engine Lights can be safely modified or removed at your request.

Developed completely in-house, we have the unique position of being the only company in North America that has the capability to both reverse engineer the ECU and develop the maps on our own AWD dyno. This depth of knowledge and tuning experience is why we are able to offer the absolute best ECU available.

Pros: smoother and faster drive
Cons: sending ecu to cobb, may need to resend ecu to cobb with further mods

I absolutely love this thing. The car accelerates significantly better at low rpms. Passed the wife test with flying colors "I like the way it feels now." Customer support is excellent and turn around time very fast. I received my ecu the day after cobb received it! If you are "thinking about it" and don't plan on doing alot of engine mods I would act now....you won't regret it!

Pros: Cheap, easy to install, great product
Cons:

Good return for what you pay, much smoother now, good stealth mod.

Midrange appears to not have shown much of an improvement, but both low and high end are notably better than before.

Pros: price, improved performance, quick turnaround from COBB
Cons:

I have the stage 1, 91 octane reflash. This is the best investment I have made in my car. The bottom end lag is almost completely gone. The gas milage remained unchanged(when I keep my foot out of it) and overall drivability is much improved. My WRX behaves like a totally different car after the reflash.

Pros: Price, ease, customer service!
Cons: Speeding tickets!

If you're looking for a plug-in engine management solution with a heck of a lot of room for future growth, Cobb's AccessECU rules, plain and simple.

The simple reflash for $400 is a great value when compared with other similar products. The gains (I'm speaking from experience with Stage 2, and with the VF34 map) are definitely palpable, and make the car so much more drivable everywhere.

However, it doesn't turn your car into a "princess" that you have to fiddle with and baby all the time, worrying about bad gas, when it gets cold outside, or your wife driving it.

In the near future, the AccessPort addition will allow you to flash your own maps without removing the ECU. Later this year, AccessTuner will allow you to custom tune your own car using the same methods that Cobb does.

I love this product, because I'm very new to engine managment and tuning, but I like the potential to grow into it.

Pros: Power, ease of installation, customer service
Cons: Used to be giving up your ecu for a week, but not anymore!

I had the Stage 1, then upgraded to Stage II when I got a turboback. Both reflashes worked perfectly. If you can use a screwdriver and a wrench (not even well) you can do this mod. On top of that, the accessport is out now, which means you don\'t even have to lose your ecu. Best mod yet for my car.

Pros: Wow. What an incredible difference in power.
Cons: None.

I shipped my \'04 ECU to Cobb because I didn\'t want to wait for the AP. All I can say is, my car feels like a brand new machine. First, second, and third gears are incredible. Cobb flashed the box and had it shipped out the same day. My only advice - when shipping overnight, use UPS\'s overnight box. It is a lot cheaper. Highly recommended.

Pros: Great idea
Cons: Generic #\'s

great b/c you can get the gas mileage, but if you get your car tuned by i speed with ecutek its more of a personal tune, so you will recieve better HP and torque numbers

can you guess my problem?

Pros: Great price, Easy tuning process (just mail it off), Excellent performance gains (bangfor buck)
Cons: Limited to an off the shelf map, Requires mailing off ECU (can be costly)

I currently have the Stage 2 for 91 octane and I must say the car does feel a very large improvement. The torque in the car has been raised to a much tolerable amount and turbolag is almost non-existent with the stock TD04 turbo. High end seems to be similar as you are limited by the fact that it is a stock turbo, but the midrange has increased for the \"fun factor.\"

What is great also is that this allows you to plug and play with no worries compared to a dyno tune. The map is a conservative one and you will not run into a problem if you also do the proper maintanence on your car.

Other then having to wait a turnaround of at least 3 days (mailiing to and from COBB), this mod is definitely recommended for what it is.

Pros: Price, results, Cobb guys are great to deal with
Cons: 3 days with no car

Dropped my 1/4 mile time by 3/10ths. Not a bad increase for a $400 mod. Daily driving is great, too. The boost curve has been made so smooth with this reflash, and the increase over stock top-end is great. Simple to install and great results.

Also, I talked to Cobb for about 1/2 an hour when I called about it. Very knowledgable staff who was happy to answer my silly questions on the phone. Great stuff.
