We optimize current flow, current flow of 12volt systems.
In an engine bay their are deficiencies in the electrical system known as “IR Drop”. Starting at the ECU (Electronic Control System), a car experiences great demands of positive 12 volt surges on a constant basis, making the vehicles grounds the weak link to a vehicles electrical system. This is where “IR Drop” comes into play, at best a vehicle has two or three grounding points sporadically positioned throughout the motor. By utilizing an Energy Ground Transfer System you reduce the “IR Drop’ by 75%. By linking five points of an Energy Ground Transfer system in a tight ground chain the vehicles ECU is now able keep up with the positive surges resulting in high performance improvements and horsepower. Dyno proven, Lineage® Energy Ground Transfer Systems deliver improved performance to all sport compacts.
All Energy Ground Transfer Systems come complete with 5 proprietery Cables • Washer Kit • Zip Ties • Instruction Manual
Japanese tuners have long been using a method called “earthing”, where they take large gauge cable and connect it through various points of the vehicles engine bay to help the electric current ground itself for more efficient flow. Through time the trend eventually made it to the USA where we call it “Grounding”. What is a grounding kit? Grounding kits are usually made up of 8 gauge cable that is crimped copper or gold ends that bolt to the chassis of the car which upgrades a vehicles electrical system.
The Lineage® Difference!
Why buy a Lineage® Energy Ground Transfer System compared to others? Lineage® uses a loop system, a system that utilizes the negative terminal and goes from one point to the next in series. Connecting together all major conducting points, I.E.: throttle body, engine block, firewall, fender, transmission, and such. Lineage® grounding kits use true oxygen free 4 GAUGE cable ,verse smaller 8 gauge kits, platinum dipped ends, sealed soldered connections for superior current, strength and longevity. The end result is optimal electrical current transfer.
The Lineage® Energy Ground Transfer Systems are available in 5 colors to match any vehicle color scheme.
What to Expect.
As tested by numerous respected tuners, magazines, and shops the Lineage® kit does what it’s supposed to...Add power. Results vary depending on vehicle type (turbo, normally aspirated engines, etc....) Here are the benefits of an upgraded ECU:
• OPTIMIZED ECU PERFORMANCE
• QUICKER THROTTLE RESPONSE
• HORSEPOWER GAIN
• BOOSTED TORQUE
• LESS TURBO LAG
• SMOOTHER IDLE
• UPGRADED FUEL ECONOMY
• MAXIMIZED STEREO OUTPUT

Pros:
Great quality. Nice underhood bling. Extra grounding can\'t be bad...
Cons:
None.
Have read the mixed reviews on grounding kits and have always wanted to try them out myself, but wasn\'t going to pay high prices for them. Heard good things about Lineage wires and wanted a 4-gauge wire set. Most resellers sold them for around $70-100. Found a brand new set on ebay for $20.00 + $15.00 UPS shipping (and tax since they were in California) in whatever color I wanted. I ordered a blue set to match the GT-Spec and COBB goodies I already have on the car.
The idea of extra grounding couldn\'t hurt. At worst case, I have more engine dress-up now. For the price, I couldn\'t pass it up, considering I\'ve found used sets on i-Club and Nasioc for the same price.
Packaged arrived January 31st. Wires are nice and beefy. Quality is really good. Installation was pretty straight forward but took some time to figure out which length of wire to use in each part of the engine bay and where to mount to. Instructions are generic and not model specific (but close enough) and I couldn\'t find very good photo examples on the message boards or on the internet to use as a guide, but I managed.
I installed them on my lunch break at work, so my only real test drive was the drive back to work (about 15-minutes).
On starting back up everything seemed normal. I think the placebo effect worked because for a minute I thought the car was running smoother! In all honesty, I\'m not sure if there was any improvement yet. It\'s just to early to tell. Either way, I am pleased with quality and the look and this mod is just icing on the cake along with the long list of other mods I have done to the car.
