to roll or not to roll

i have a set of 17x8.5 rims and i am planning on putting 245/40/17's on them. Before i put them on, i am wondering if i will have to roll the fenders or not.

you have to be more specific.

1: are you lowered? if not then you dont need to roll your fenders

2: what kind of car do you drive?

3: offset of the wheels?

Rolling is not optional on an 03 WRX, that is lowered, with 245's.

You may not want to roll your fender lips, but you are gonna have to to run 245's on a lowered wrx

Actually no.... I just thought I'd offer advice from my rectal orifice just to mess with a person who is in need of an honest answer. A forum like this doesn't need answers out of experience. We need spontaneous answers, true or not.

<The previous paragraph was said in jest... Yes, I am speaking from experience... even on stock suspension 245 would rub under hard cornering, or a loaded backseat... with tein S-techs you will have to roll, it WILL rub under regular driving>

Based on #1, you will have to roll your fenders. I had 245/40/17 on Prodrive springs and didn't rub. After I got Helix coilovers and lowerd my car more, I rubbed in the rear so I had to roll my fenders.

Regards,
Preston
