Lightbulb good wet traction tire

looking for people's opinions on good wet weather tires. i live in memphis and it has been raining for about 3 weeks. the roads tend to get at least an inch or so of water and also have a decent amount of oil build up. tires probably cant do much about the oil on the roads.. but anything that will help with the water will be much better.

Michelin Pilots are supposed to be really good as well, although they're expensive.

tons of good reviews for having good wet and dry traction. and as a bonus, they are one of the lighter tires in it's size!

Look at Goodyear's new F1 GS-D3. We tested them last fall on IS300s and our wet track times were slightly better than on S-03s. Read about this tire if you can - it's going to turn some heads.

inexpensive tires that are good in rain are the dunlop fm901's and the yokohama es100's for those of us that have the cost of replacement in mind

Are you looking for Max or Ultra High Performance?

For UHP, check out the Firestone Firehawk SZ50EP.
It uses a similar technology to the SO3 and has a higher treadwear rating. Check out the Tire Rack.

Talking

thnx for all the replies. overall, looking at both UHP & MAX. more than anything i was just trying to get peeps opinions from having used the tires or know from a friend or other source of actual performance. i just wanted something other then the s**t little descriptions they usually give for the tires, most dont tell you any useful info others just dont have any info at all.

Nokian WR's (or NRW's, but they stopped making NRW's this year)

They're my autoX/dry/rain/snow/ice tires... and preform like a dream on all those surfaces... the only "all weather tire" too

not too expensive either =)

no real point to get them though if your area gets no snow
