If you add the costs and markup associated with mil-spec'ing everything, labor, finishing, and new drivetrain costs, I wounldn't be surprised if these things are actually costing the builder $30-40k each.

If you are supplying a foreign military, you could ship them suzuki samurais and they'd be plenty happy.

But we are shipping these to foreign military, at 1/3 the cost of what the marine corps are paying.

The funny thing is that we only need these jeeps to fit on an aircraft that is shrouded in a cloud of controversy due to its sketchy record and questionable design...
