So I was putting in my Borla headers when I noticed there was oil residue on my tranny and other parts on the bottom of my Impreza. Turns out both of the rubber sleeves on my front axles have rips in them and I'm leaking oil from it. Does anyone know how to relube the axles after I replace the sleeves. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
Thanks for the links. It's not really oil, it's actually the grease used to lubricate the axles. I went to the dealership and purchased the cv boots, grease, and fasteners but the only problem now is that the boots aren't the quick install kind, instead I have to remove the whole axle to replace the boot. Looks like I got my work cut out for me.
I had the same reaction when I looked under my car. it looks like a brownish thick grease coming out of the trans right by the axels. I went to the dealership and raised hell about it, they swear up and down its normal. after I looked under a few other cars I saw the same thing some with more and some with less grease so I hope its normal. It seeems like any car that is lower then stock height had more but I dont know. could be my paranoia. who knows
