The brakes are direct bolt on, but your pedal feel will worsen and your brake bias will go even further to the front. I wouldn't so it without a caliper upgrade to the rears as well.
good info there. just located a set of front and rear 04 sti brembos so i will go with that. would you guys suggest swaping to 14" brembo gran turismo rotors in the front to go with the new calipers?
You can't bolt the Brembo two pots to your rear hubs. Also, the STi Brembo rotors and the Brembo GranTurismo kit rotors are different. You need the stock STi size, not the GT size.

so we have a problem with the rear.... is it possible to swap the rear hub to 04 sti to solve the porblem?
Yes... but hten you need the R180 halfshaft, so you'd need the R180 diff, so you'd need a driveshaft with an R180 flange... etc. There's also a kit that will help you put the Subaru 2 pots on your WRX hubs available from racecompengineering.com that will work. It *might* work for the Brembos too. I'd give them a call and discuss it with them.

cool let me know, the r180 half shaft route is kinda oberwhelming...
...by the time you get the rotors and calipers attached and functioning...and all the other junk needed to DO the STi Brembo's on a WRX....THEN the master cylinder will need to be replaced to cope with the difference in fluid volume and bias....and finally the wheels to fit.....you would be FAR better off, from all points of view, finding another braking solution for a USDM WRX...IMO.
