question on an 03 wrx

Im intrested in buying this 03 wrx 45000 miles seems to be in decent shape.. price at the moment is $12,900 sound good ? seems to be below Blue book.
However there is a Nice scrape on the corner of the rear bumper . i was gonna see if i could work something out with the dealer to have them repaint possibly ...
oh and by the way this is at probably one of the 2 subaru dealers in the area.. not some little crap dealer.. Im thinking about going up there tomorrow and see if i can work things out.. let me know what you guys think.. this will be my first Suby..oh and if there is anything i should be looking for on a used wrx like something that might be wrong with it .. maybe a particular part let me know.. i believe it is under warranty still..

Thanks,
John

Sounds like a good deal to me. I have one... the o3 is a solid car, no major problem recalls and the manual transmission was improved over the previous year (fixed clutch issues). Look it over for evidence of modification or hard use... that would be the only thing I'd be particularly concerned with. Take a good test drive, look for oil burning or any vibration from drive train or area of the wheels.

$12.9?

12.9 from a dealer on an 03 is VERY low. even for 45,000 miles and a few scrapes. Smells like a salvage titled vehicle to me. Dealers don't give out bargains like that for no reason.

Rule #1: If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

LOL scratch that.. i just called the dealer .. and apparently the automart add was a typo.. price is set at 19,900 wtf lol.. and the ad has changed online too . guess u were right too good to be true..
so heres the situation im in now.. what is a good going price for an 03 ?
2nd they also have a 04 for the SAME price ??? actually instead of me telling u how about i link the pages and u tell me what u think ..

here is the 03 - it has 2 scratches on the bumper pretty big.. in the corners .. guess he didnt know how to park it .. other than that it was pretty decent..

and here is the 04 - the 04 has some fine line scratches on it 2 or 3 . and paint chip or 2.. also the passenger side seat looks like a cat got its claws stuck in it . some ***** marks on the seat.. and a stain looking mark on the driver seat.

what kinda price would be good for these. and i was also thinking of maybe having the dealer fix some of these scratches if i were to buy .. ? if possible...

John

purchase market

right now, a new 05 should be in the high 21's low 22's. You can also get a Saab 9-2 for about this price, if you can find one (aeros are getting rare). Using standard depreciation from that point, you should expect to be in the 19's for a clean 04 with low miles, and in the 16's or 17's for an 02-03 that's very clean with low miles, and going down from there. I have seen a few listed in the 12-13K range, mostly 02's with mileage 70-90K
