Question Jacking up a WRX

Ok. So i'm new to the whole doing work on my own car thing but it's something I really wanna do. But I tried to jack up the car yesterday and I realized I didn't know how. I have jack stands and I also have the little ramps you drive up on, but I need to learn how to use a jack. I got the jack that came with the car out and put it where the manual said, jacked up the car, got ready to put the jackstand under the car, but there was no way to put it at the reinforced point that the jack was on, so where do I put it? If someone could go through the whole process for me that'd be great. Thanks alot.

If you look under your car from the front, you will see your cover. In the middle, right past the cover you will see a cover with 4 nuts. Jack it up from there.
