2002 WRX, on its second A/C compressor seal (I rebuilt the existing compressor, rather than replaced it).

Two issues:

On the first time that the compressor kicks on, I hear a metallic GZZZZK sound just as it spins up. It doesn't seem to do this after the A/C cycles on and off, as I am off and running, but I hear it a few seconds after I start in the morning.

Every 20 minutes or so (though it is really random, I might go a day without hearing it) I get this crazy slide-whistle sound - that is the only way I can describe it. Sometimes it goes up (low note to high note), other times it goes down! The A/C blows VERY cold (I only need it on "2" to cool the entire car) and cools down very fast when I start the car, so I have enough pressure to actually cool the car, but what the heck is causing this crazy sound?

it sounds like compressor clutch. mine made noise too when it would engage. a sucking sound and a light clacking.

Ugh, not looking forward to rebuilding that thing again... The clutch is still the factory original. Any ideas on the slide-whistle sound? I need to record it w/ my phone, no one believes what a crazy sound it is.
