irritating problem with turn signal

okay, before i start, if this is more appropriate in another forum, i do apologize. i searched through about ten different older threads, but didn't find the answer i need.

anyway, from the day i bought my '95 legacy L AWD (which was back in early December '05), i've had problems with the front passenger side turn signal. the bulb is fine, i've replaced it about three times now just to see if that would do the trick. the first time i replaced it, the turn signal started working again, but about a week later, it failed once more (but the bulb itself was not blown). all the other turn signals (including the rear passenger side) do work normally.

i've replaced the flasher, but this didn't do anything. i cleaned off the grounds (and re-tightened them) for the front turn signals, but that still had no effect. i've since wired in some JDM sidemarkers, and the passenger side one does not work (so it's not the bulb socket that failed), which leaves me to believe that either there is a faulty relay somewhere, or the combination switch is failing. i'm really hoping it's not the wiring harness itself that failed, cause that will be loads of fun to replace!

the green arrow indicator in the guage cluster does illuminate slightly when i activate the right turn signal, but just barely. sometimes i can see the rest of the dash lights dim when the flasher opens the circuit, but they don't dim very much, and they don't dim when the headlights are on. i should note that i've made several modifications to the lighting system (IE: fog lights, city lights, side markers, etc.), but none of this has had any effect on the turn signal problem. the signal simply did not work before, and continues to not work.

i've referenced a Haynes manual to see if i can find a relay for the turn signal, but it doesn't show any. i've checked the fuse (is there really only one? cause that's the only one indicated in the manual), and it's fine. given the fact that the other signals work, that doesn't surprise me though. i guess it's possible that the newflasher is also faulty, but given that it operates the rear passenger signal normally, i doubt that.

so anyway, my next two thoughts are either the combination switch needs to be replaced, or i need to replace a whole lotta wiring. any one have any other ideas? any other input?

and no, i will not replace the blinker fluid!
