Question t3h L.A. transportation thread

Dear Gentlemen and Ladies (?) of So Cal i-Crub and Esteemed Brothers and Sisters (?) of of Rife Praza: Greetings and Salutations!

I actually have a strange question for all of you... What's the best way to get from LAX to USC Medical Center without a car? Hopefully within 2 hours, too. I'm probably gonna come down for 1 Saturday in January for a same day arrival and departure dealie, so I'm trying to plan my day so that it goes with as few hitches as possible. Thank you all kindly in advance for any words of wisdom and nuggets of insight.

Why not just do the cheapest rental car option? Or do you mean you don't want to touch the drivers seat of any car?

I just want whatever's cheapest, period. You figure I'm going down to LA for just one day for one thing already.

Depending on when you're going, a Chevy Aveo may be $63 from Hertz for the day. I'm sure if you do some digging you can find cheaper prices than that too.

For me it was about $80 to rent a car from LAX to Orange County. Keep in mind that included the under 25 y/o surcharge, its usually more expensive if you don't return it at the pick-up location, and it was a last minute (day of) rental reservation.

Oh schweet, thanks for the info. I won't have to worry about the under-25 surcharge. Although I might have to worry about an Aveo. Well, time to start digging I guess. Maybe I can actually fit more into my day with a car now (I'm suddenly smelling a J-Town run).

Remember those nasty storms we had in January? They followed me to SoCal and I had to make that hour drive in a Yaris.

My original flight got cancelled as I arrived at the airport, so I had to get a new flight (to LAX instead of Santa Ana) so I didn't have much time to search for a better rate or a discount
