Sorry, just saw this. Unfortunately you have to call around. You can call brokers (like I am) and they will be able to find a few companies at a time. They charge broker fees though. Any thing over $100 (fee) isn't good. I usually give clients the following...

Dwelling (covers house)
Other Structures (garage)
Additional Living Expensese (incase you have to move out and live some place else while they rebuilt your house)
Personal Property (the stuff in your house; furniture, appliances, clothes)
Liability (incase a robber falls in your house and tries to sue you)

Other good ones are extended replacement cost (if the market goes up and it cost more to rebuild your house than what its covered for) and animal liability (in case you small dog [I say small because most companies won't insure big dogs] bites some one). Both of these won't cost more than $20 each.

When you call for qoutes ask for an HO-3 that should include most of the coverages stated above.

Its preferable that it doesn't, especially for the more picky companies. You just won't be covered for those days though.
